In Puerto Morelos we went to The Little Mexican Cooking School (awesome, and they do a fabulous brunch). In the same building is Casa Caribe B&B. They let us look around, is where we would stay if back in Puerto Morelos. Cute, clean, friendly. Www.casacaribepuertomorelos.com

Sea Hawk Divers on Isla Mujeres rents rooms. We've stayed there twice. They're cheap, clean, and one of the owners is Canadian. It's right near Playa Norte.

Rent golf carts and go around isla mujures. Less than 2 hrs. Places to stop along the way.

Nice to stay at north end so you can walk to town in evenings. Plus beaches are beautiful there!

Little further south then you might want but Petit Lafitte in Playa is an amazing beach front boutique hotel. And very family friendly.

looking for accommodation recommendations in Isla Mujares and Puerto Morelos. We have kids aged 5 and 7 and prefer boutique/authentic/character place vs massive all inclusive hotel. Please share any 'must-see/do's' in the area as well. TIA!
