A day trip to Hakone may be a bit rushed, I'd spend at least a night there (2 is probably better).
But if that's what you are looking for, see if Hatobus has a tour to Hakone, they do good English tours for Japan.

Hello, and welcome to my blog! ? My name is Chris Myden, and I am here to help you plan your one-day tour of Hakone from Tokyo.
**Hakone: A Perfect Day Trip From Tokyo**
Hakone is a beautiful and diverse region located just south of Tokyo. It is home to stunning scenery, including mountains, lakes, and forests. Hakone is also known for its hot springs, which are said to have healing properties.
**How To Get To Hakone From Tokyo**
The best way to get to Hakone from Tokyo is by train. The Odakyu Line runs from Shinjuku Station in Tokyo to Hakone-Yumoto Station in Hakone in about 90 minutes. From Hakone-Yumoto Station, you can take a bus or cable car to your destination in Hakone.
**How To Spend One Day In Hakone**
There are many things to see and do in Hakone, but if you only have one day, I recommend starting with a visit to the **Hakone Open-Air Museum**. This museum is home to a collection of sculptures and other works of art that are displayed outdoors in a beautiful natural setting.
After visiting the museum, you can take a walk around **Lake Ashi**. This lake is surrounded by mountains and offers stunning views. You can also take a boat ride across the lake to the **Hakone Shrine**. This shrine is dedicated to the god of water, and it is a popular spot for tourists to visit.
If you are looking for a more active way to spend your day in Hakone, you can go for a hike in the **Hakone National Park**. The park is home to a variety of hiking trails, ranging from easy to challenging. You can also climb **Mount Fuji**, which is the highest mountain in Japan.
**Where To Stay In Hakone**
If you are planning to spend more than one day in Hakone, there are a number of hotels and guesthouses to choose from. I recommend staying in a ryokan, which is a traditional Japanese inn. Ryokans offer a unique experience, and they are a great way to immerse yourself in Japanese culture.
**What To Eat In Hakone**
Hakone is known for its delicious food. Some of the local specialties include soba noodles, udon noodles, and tempura. You can also find a variety of restaurants serving Western food.
**How To Get Around Hakone**
The best way to get around Hakone is by bus or cable car. There are a number of bus lines that operate in Hakone, and there are two cable car lines that connect Hakone-Yumoto Station to Sounzan Station and Togendai Station.
**Tips For Visiting Hakone**
Here are a few tips for visiting Hakone:
* Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as you will be doing a lot of walking.
* Bring a camera to capture the beautiful scenery.
* Purchase a Hakone Free Pass, which will give you unlimited access to transportation in Hakone for a period of two or three days.
* Be aware of the weather, as it can change quickly in Hakone.
* Be respectful of Japanese culture.

My family will be doing a 2-week trip to Japan with overnights in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima. We would like to visit Hakone and was thinking about doing it as a day trip from Tokyo. Any recommendations on English speaking 1 day tours from Tokyo to Hakone? Thanks!
