Can anyone share their experience traveling to Japan/Korea with 2 kids and a stroller?

Has anyone been to Japan / Korea with 2 kids? Are we better off taking a double umbrella stroller or 2 single umbrella strollers? My worry is we won't be able to navigate tight spaces with the double stroller.

I would recommend 2 single strollers. I had a bugaboo stroller when my kids were little, even that was tight fit at many places in Japan.

Japan is not very stroller friendly. Many of the locals carry their babies because it is just too crowded. When you take their subway system, some are 3 or 4 floors below ground and many do not have elevators or escalators. If you absolutely need to bring a stroller, definitely bring single strollers that are easy to fold up and carry, and don’t plan on loading them up with stuff because you will end up having to carry it all walking up 3 flight of stairs.

Traveling to Japan/Korea with Kids: Double vs Single Stroller

Traveling with kids can be challenging, especially when it comes to navigating tight spaces in countries like Japan and Korea. One common dilemma parents face is whether to bring a double umbrella stroller or two single umbrella strollers.

Having traveled to both Japan and Korea with my two kids, I can offer some insights on this matter. While a double umbrella stroller may seem more convenient in terms of pushing both kids at once, it can be difficult to maneuver in crowded areas and narrow streets.

On the other hand, having two single umbrella strollers allows for more flexibility in navigating tight spaces. Each parent can push a stroller, making it easier to weave through crowds and navigate through crowded markets or busy train stations.

Additionally, having two single strollers gives each child their own space and independence. They can nap comfortably without disturbing each other, and you can easily attend to the needs of each child without having to maneuver around a double stroller.

Ultimately, the decision between a double and single stroller depends on your personal preference and the specific needs of your kids. If you prioritize convenience and don't mind the potential challenges of navigating with a double stroller, then that may be the better option for you. However, if you value flexibility and ease of navigation in tight spaces, then two single strollers may be the way to go.

Regardless of your choice, be sure to consider the layout of the places you'll be visiting, the age and mobility of your kids, and your own comfort level in handling strollers in crowded areas.
