Seeking recommendations: Where to go with a toddler and flight credits?

Question:

Looking for recommendations:
My husband and I have quite a large amount of flight credits and are wanting to use them to travel somewhere we wouldn't normally go to (ie: no USA, Mexico, Hawaii, etc).
We have a 2 year old son who is a very good traveler but we want to pick a place that would be relatively easy to travel to with a toddler as well.
We are thinking either the Caribbean or somewhere in Europe but are completely OPEN to ideas!
We have already been to Bali, Japan, Australia and New Zealand and will be doing Germany in 2025.
I know this is a very broad post but I'm hoping some people have good recommendations for places a toddler might enjoy as well
.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about the controversy happening in Taiwan right now with China - but if it's all good, Taiwan is one of my most favourite places to bring a child! My son was 2.5 years old when we went and it's the most child friendly place we've ever been!

Fijian people are beautiful and loving hosts. The way I saw them interact with all children while on the resorts they were so loving and fun.

We just did a road trip from Slovenia to Croatia to Montenegro. Travel within countries was quick and easy.
Last year we visited the Cotswolds in England ( beautiful). South of France ( St. Tropez, Nice, Monaco ).
Also recommend Thailand. Something for everyone there. Beaches, history , adventure.
Happy planning.

Portugal is lovely in the fall. Wonderful places to walk and be outside both in the country and beaches. Easy to get around by train or rental car. You can break up the flight by a stop in Montreal to see the leaves. Lots of sweet small towns to explore in the Algarve as daytrips if it is easier to stay in one spot. Food is wonderful! Portuguese love families.

I would definitely recommend Fiji! Not just because it’s my homeland but because you’ll actually FEEL the love and genuine connection, warmth and care from the Fijians! Also they will take care of your child/children like their own! They go out of their way to make you feel at home. AND you get to enjoy the fresh local food!

With a two year old a long 11 hour or more, flight may be a bit too much. Hawaii would be a great choice. When my son was 3 we flew to Hawaii. We stayed in a townhouse complex and my little guy could run around on the beautiful manicured lawn that all units backed on to.

We had an absolutely fantastic time in the Mayan Riviera with our 2 young kiddos. Lots of beautiful cenotes and beaches, but tours and attractions can be pricey. We rented a car and did most of it ourselves and avoided the whole hotel scene.

Train travel is a blast with kids!Get a sleeper car for your family. Check out the Seat 61 website for inspiration. I would start by flying in to Copenhagen. Fun, easy, safe for a family trip. Legoland would be an absolute hit with the little guy. Take a train in to Germany then back around to Amsterdam and fly home from there.

Barcelona, and stay in Sitges for beach time just 30 min train from the city centre. Gaudi architecture and textures everywhere, plus some fantastic modern playground design, and tons of trains!

The opposite end of Canada from where you live? East coast is amazing. And your son will always be grateful that he's traveled all across Canada and has seen the other side. Always be proud of the country of your birth. There are fun things to do and see "over there", too..

Sri Lanka - 100%. We are leaving today from a 5 week trip. It has been a dream. We don’t have kids but everyone here adores kids so I’m sure it would be good. It would be a great way to use ur flight credits as the flights are costly but it is super cheap here ! Hotels and food are very inexpensive. You can hire a guide/driver for a decent price and leave the driving up to them and you just enjoy! And there is nothing to worry about here now . Everything is back to normal and it’s very safe. We compared Sri Lanka to fiji and picked Sri Lanka bc I found the accommodation prices in Fiji to be ridiculously expensive.

Is there a particular time of year you're thinking of going? Asking because someone mentioned the Algarve area of Portugal. IMO, it's not warm enough in Fall & can get ALOT of rain at times.

Aruba

Aruba is another popular Caribbean destination for families. The island boasts stunning white-sand beaches, calm turquoise waters, and a dry climate that's ideal for year-round travel. Many resorts in Aruba cater to children, providing amenities such as kids' clubs, playgrounds, and splash zones.

European Destinations

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam is a vibrant city with plenty to offer families. The city is known for its canals, museums, and charming architecture. It also has a number of child-friendly attractions, such as the Nemo Science Museum, the Heineken Experience, and the Amsterdam Zoo.

Dublin, Ireland

Other Recommendations

Iceland
