Will our Canadian vaccination records be accepted in most places in France?

Jenny
My friend and I were in Paris August 7-16 and we only used our paper copies of our vaccines. We always just said “we’re Canadian. Here’s dose one and this was dose two”
Shirley
Thanks for the info!
John
Just be careful and NOT book with an international airline that denies you a boarding pass if you have a mixed batch of COVID vaccines (eg. Pfizer, Moderna). Your travel insurance may not cover this and you will be out your travel money because the airline and security will keep on passing the blame on to each other using stall tactics so the time limit is exhausted and neither has to issue you a refund.
Shirley
John Luckily we had two Pfizer shots. Sorry that some people had this problem.
Sheila
John which airlines are you aware of that are refusing mixed vaccines?
John
Sheila Saw the notice on a website but I did not pay much attention to it because the only place I'm interested in visiting again is Japan. At present Japan has closed its borders to foreign travel. I believe the notice was posted by a couple hoping to vacation in France or some other European country but cancelled due to the airline refusing to give them a boarding pass due to the mixed COVID vaccines.
Sheila
John thanks. The mixed dose is indeed an issue in places. I’m going for my third dose ASAP to get around it. Such a waste!
Ken
Anything going via UK for starters.

John corporations are prohibited from donating to federal political parties, and the individual contribution limit to a federal political party is limited to $1,650 per donor per year.

Michelle
Where do you apply for the QR code?
Shirley
Michelle See the website from Karen below. That’s where we applied too.

We are in Paris right now anhave not received our pass sanitaire, even though we applied over 10 days ago.
We took a rapid antigen test yesterday to get an 72 hour QR code but we have found most places take our paper copy.
Shirley
Crystal That’s reassuring. Thanks!
Shirley
Crystal Have an awesome holiday!
Crystal
We finally got our pass sanitaire yesterday but we already had a pharmacy in Paris input our vaccine information Into the system for €20.
Shirley
We may not get our pass in time either. I had heard that pharmacies may do that, so that is an option we can try. Thanks for update.
Crystal
Shirley not all pharmacies do it we found but this one did:

Great! We can look for that!

Netcare docs are ok . Not many places will ask for them though ..
If you have a copy if the second shot ( where it states COMPLETE and has the batch number ) I would scan it along with Netcare papers and showed them in that form .
Shirley
Thank you everyone
Francen
We were traveling from Paris since Aug. 25th then Munich, Germany, Salzburg, Zurich and Vienna, they all accept our Covid Vac. paper copies ( Alberta Health Serv) so far, tomorrow we will fly to Amsterdam and hopefully there's no hitch( fingerscross).
Shirley
Francen Sounds good! We aren’t so worried now. Safe travels!
Francen
Shirley likewise
thank you.
Glenys
Francen I am in Germanyand have experienced no issues showing my paperwork.
Francen
Glenys hey! Right?
Are you staying in Germany longer? Have you seen their Neuschwanstein Castle? See their Amsee (sea or lakes we call it
). They're nice too. Enjoy and keep safe
Michelle
Did you ever get your QR code from the embassy? How long did it take?
Matthew
Embassy doesn't issue QR codes, the French Health Ministry does. I received mine in around 10 days but that was a month ago. Using the Pass Sanitaire in France was a cinch. With the pass you also are granted an EU COVID Certificate as well, so now you will have certification as added proof of vaccination when travelling.
Shirley
My 3 travel friends received their tourist QR code but I didn’t get mine yet. We all sent them within the same few days, about 3 weeks ago.

Travelling to France with Canadian Vaccination Records
As you prepare for your upcoming trip to France, it's essential to understand the requirements and protocols for entering restaurants and tourist venues with your vaccination records. While France has relaxed many COVID-19 restrictions, some measures remain in place to ensure the safety of visitors and residents alike.
Accepted Vaccination Records in France
According to the latest information from the French government, both digital and paper vaccination certificates from Canada are accepted in France. This means that your Canadian paper vaccination record should be valid for entry into restaurants, museums, and other tourist venues throughout the country.
However, it's important to note that some establishments may prefer or require a digital QR code for faster and more efficient verification. If you haven't received your QR code from the embassy in time, carrying your Canadian paper vaccination record will still allow you to gain access to most places.
Tips for a Smooth Experience
To ensure a hassle-free experience during your trip to France, here are some tips to keep in mind:
- Carry your Canadian paper vaccination record with you at all times, as it may be requested for entry into various establishments.
- Keep a digital copy or photo of your vaccination record on your smartphone for easy access and backup.
- Be prepared to present your vaccination record along with a valid form of identification, such as your passport or national ID card.
- Check the specific requirements of the venues you plan to visit, as some may have additional protocols in place.
- Be patient and respectful when dealing with staff who are responsible for verifying vaccination records.
By following these guidelines and carrying your Canadian paper vaccination record, you should be able to enjoy a smooth and memorable experience exploring the beautiful sights and culinary delights of France.
Safe travels, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions!

We are travelling to France in two weeks. Has anyone had experience getting into restaurants & tourist venues by showing Canadian paper vaccination record? Is that accepted in most places in France?
We won’t get a QR code from embassy in time, though we sent documents for it.
