Question:
Humans say...
Joanne
That is correct...
Russ
I would still bring the passport out of an abundance of caution.
Debbie
Some airlines don't except nexus as id, might want to take passport
Sarah
Allegiant Air.... I feel like they don't have high Standards! Lol
Mike
I just didn't it this way 2 months ago with allegiant air with no problem.
Sarah
So you used your Nexus only?
You didn't produce your passport?
Mike
That's right. I brought my passport but never showed it at any point.
Angela
I've flown both Allegiant and Alaska this way without any problem.
Sarah
So you only checked in with your nexus card only?
Angela
Yep that's right...used my nexus to get through security at bellingham, Vegas and palm springs airports with no problem at all (this was before Trump took over however...lol)
Sarah
Thanks! I'm trying to help me friend. She's going to Vegas next week. She's got nexus but can't find her passport
Angela
I think it will be fine...my nexus is all I've used for flights within the US ever since I got it. Never had a problem
Sarah
Crisis reverted! She found it. Thanks
Edward
I've done it a few times. Once got a lecture that I should have both, but no other issues.
Sarah
I've never had any issues either, thank God
Raymond
Why not take your passport?
Sarah
I'm asking for a friend. She lost her passport today and is going to Vegas in a week.
Christin
She can get her passport in one day rush if she wanted to
Sarah
Crisis reverted! She found it!

Amie
I personally learned hard way...use your nexus but still have passport just in case..we were in Montreal flying using nexus but their nexus program was down. ..they let us go after we argued but they told us in future always have passport as secondary I'd. ..also everyone should update their passport info if it's been renewed etc. ..now nexus and passport is only for borders land or air...flying within USA or within Canada you only need valid government issued photo ID. ..doesn't matter what it is..nexus counts as ID at any airport in Canada and USA
Dana
Technically you're required to always carry your passport with your nexus when crossing the border, but she should be fine. Allegiant won't care since it's a domestic flight.
Sarah
That's what I thought to. But, she just found it! Thank God
Debbie
We crossed a few weeks ago with Nexus and flew from Bellingham to California on Allegiant. Allegiant didnt link our tickets to our Nexus passes and we had to show our passports. Didnt need them on the way back though.
Lisa
You must have your passport to get into Vegas. I was almost turned back in Vegas for not having my passport. I spent an hour in secondary
Shawn
This is incorrect. I have flown to Vegas from Bellingham 6 times with just my Nexus.
Lisa
This was my personal experience. I had to go to 3 different officers to be allowed in at which time I was lectured about having to have my passport.
Sarah
Luck of the draw, I guess
Dana
So many different answers...just tell her to call allegiant and ask them what their policy is. As far as the border i have called them and they told me i legally must always carry my passport with me any time i cross the border even if i have a nexus.
Sarah
Crisis reverted! My friend found her passport!
Pat
We fly to Vegas with Allegiant Air all the time, and I always have to show my passport at security.
Pat
I would get a new passport, they can get it to you in a couple of days if you put a rush on it.
Sarah
She just found it. Pweuf
Ruth
A few years ago I used my enhanced drivers license and had no problems using dl because it is primary idm
Billie
wouldn't do it today, not a chance - you are a Canadian in the USA, the bordermay not be the only place who would like that information
Sarah
It's all good. My friend found her passport! Pweuf
Lee
If she has already booked her flight she can get a rush passport in 24 hours.
Sarah
She just found it! Thank God
Teresa
When I worked for air lines it didn't matter if it was domestic or not what matter was of you were in you country or not. Just because you have a nexus card doesn't make you a US citizen to travel thru there country freely. ....
Getting out of Canada is easy it's when you try to get back on the plane to come home is the problem not worth the risk in my books.
Sarah
It's all good. My friend found her passport. Thanks for the info though!
Nicki
Things have changed drastically at the border the past six months....get a passport!
Jennifer
They have? I go down every couple of weeks with no issues.
Nicki
We dont have problems cuz we go back and forth frequently (TSA precheck) but this last time, there were sooooo many ppl being 'talked to' or pulled aside!
Michelle
You still need your passport even with a nexus card.
Belle
If your American you can get away with flying with government ID. We are foreigners and need our passport, even with domestic US flights. Why dont you check with the airline?
Sarah
My friend found her passport. It's all good. Thanks!
Belle
Are you guys experiences pre-Trump or post-Trump? lol
Lisa
Mine was pre
Corinne
If you have a passport, take it.
Jennifer
I've had my nexus for 9 years and never carry my passport unless I'm going with friends who don't have nexus. I've had border patrol tell me I don't need my passport on me. For flying in the us I still bring my passport as well
Marilyn
My husband flew to US states and Puerto Rico 2
Weeks ago using his Nexus bec his passport was expired. He had no problem in any airlines. So yes you can fly within US and Canada with your Nexus card.
Sarah
Thank you so much!
Justine
Still need passport to fly
Sara
Once you are in the states you do not need a passport to fly within the states we have done it many times.
Sarah
That's what I thought. Thank you
Sara
Half the time we don't even get asked for Id at the airport just for our plane tickets
Sarah
Interesting!
Sarah
Crisis reverted. My friend found her passport! Thank you, everyone for your responses! I appreciate it
Sarah
I think the lesson is ALWAYS take your passport even if you don't need to use it. Better safe than sorry. happy Travels.
Vivian
Never leave home without it! Better safe than sorry!
Deb
BRING YOUR PASSPORT
A.I. says...
Do I Need a Passport for a Nexus Card When Flying from Bellingham to Vegas?
If you have a Nexus card and are crossing the border by land, you may be wondering if you need your passport when flying from Bellingham to Vegas. The answer is no, you do not need your passport for this domestic flight.
When you have a Nexus card, you are already pre-screened and approved for travel between the US and Canada. This means that you can use your Nexus card as identification when flying domestically within the US, including from Bellingham to Vegas.
However, it is always a good idea to carry your passport with you when traveling internationally, even if you have a Nexus card. In case of any unforeseen circumstances or changes to your travel plans, having your passport on hand can be helpful.
So, in short, if you are flying from Bellingham to Vegas with your Nexus card, you do not need your passport for this domestic flight. Safe travels!
Sarah
If you cross the border by land with your Nexus card, fly out of Bellingham to Vegas, you don't need your Passport, do you? It's a domestic flight now.....
