We just got back. Have a look at Khao Sok National Park, we did 2 nights there and stayed in floating bungalows. It was amazing the highlight! And we went to Sonchana Farm while we were in the area. Also amazing!

We spent almost a week on Koh Kood and then a week in Koh Lanta. Koh Kood really quiet. Total chill. Koh Lanta a bit busier but still really chill.

If you head to Phuket, koh phi phi and krabi are ferry rides away. They are great but quite touristy.. I've heard the Koh Lipe is incredible and fairly untouched. Depends what you're into!

I’ve been three times and spent most of my time on Samui and phangan.
If you want a busy party go to phagnan for the full moon party. If you want to when it’s not busy wait 2 days and go after the full moon party.
You may also want to check out secret beach - you can access it via haad rin.
Let me know if you want to know specific areas to stay on the two islands.
