We are heading over to Scotland in a few days; after a week on the canal narrowboats we will have a few free days in Glasgow. Can anyone suggest any places or things that we should see/do? Sights, restaurants, etc... TIA

Take the hop on off bus for sure. Then you can back track places that interest you. Such a fun city.

The hop on hop off is a great way to get around and see the sights. You can always go back to the spots of interest, Glasgow has a lot of old buildings and has a number of universities and colleges. They also have a Tim Hortons,

Try and get up to The highlands it was my favourite - dorrnoch beach area is stunning, Battlefield of Collodun
Port town of OBan is full of history, Loch Lommond is beautiful nature area with lots of glass like lakes
Arthur’s seat is worth the walk- my mom who is not it great shape did it just fine and the view is amazing
The underground tour in Edinburgh. There is also a walking tour done by a lady through Airbnb in Edinburgh called Helens Highs and Hidden Lows City Tour - it was AWESOME
There are some beautiful waterfalls in Cannich County area that are easy to get to
And the castles! So many castles
Glasgow- Ubiquitous Chip- the best fish and chip, visit Ashton lane for cocktails and dinner. The west end has cool, hipster, new age vibe to it
Also we stayed in linthlithgow which was a 20 minute train right into Edinburgh it was way cheaper and you really got the feeling of Scotland there.
Have a great time

In Glasgow itself, the People's Palace was so interesting. (It's on the hop-on, hop-off route). Also, because we were there on an extremely hot day, we went into the cathedral downtown to cool off and ended up doing a surprisingly interesting tour there (I am not usually into cathedrals). Kelvingrove Gallery and just down the road is the Botanical Garden. I love Glasgow. If you haven't been to Edinburgh, it's an hour long train ride away...... Many people prefer it to Glasgow for its grandeur.
