Thailand! So cheap, so beautiful and so much to do! Even if you just go to the islands! I highly recommend going up north in Thailand though to Chang Mai and Pai! Pai specifically is absolutely remarkable

It's Canada 150! Newfoundland or the Maritimes...great people, great food and drink, lots of history and culture, and mother nature has done some interesting things there too.

San Francisco and napa! Definitely better for adults. Maybe not for a full 2 weeks but could definitely do a week - 10 days.

Amsterdam and all around the Netherlands. There are direct flights there from Calgary and it is amazing. Great food, people, shopping, beautiful country. Just stay away from the touristy areas!

Cambodia literally has all of those things!!! And it's cheap!

Hawaii. Any Island

Krakow Poland and Prague Czech Republic. In krakow there is so much to see in my opinion and Auschwitz was a very deep experience for me. They have a website and can read up on the guidelines etc. Polish locals were so nice! I rented an apartment and it was like $350 for the week I think. In Prague you can go to the bone church outside the city, the theatres there are really cool and inexpensive compared to other places (for ballet, opera and acting) there is a castle and cheap beer and other stuff. Maybe fly into Berlin Germany first and train to the others, you probably could do all three in 2 weeks.

In my opinion 2 weeks is not really long enough to go to Asia, Africa, or Australia. By the time you fly there and get over jet lag you don't have many days left for exploring. I would stay in Central/South America or maybe Europe. We enjoyed Costa Rica when we were there in November.

Flights look the most reasonable to August to N, Central & South america rather than Europe/Asia (according to a quick look at skyscanner).
I was going to suggest Paris for the cemeteries (including the catacombs - great for a hot day, but also just for the long histories and historical figures buried in many of them), or Iceland for the summer puffin season as two weeks is probably about the right time for a road trip around the entire island and it's one of the shortest transatlantic flights from Alberta to Europe, but they aren't really the deals at the moment. Not terrible, but not exceptional either.
We did a road trip up from Seattle to Calgary (including Victoria) in about 1 week, but I think you could certainly make a decent 2 week road trip out of driving to Vancouver Island and back by taking two different routes and planning some interesting stops along the way including on the island, in the Okanagan, etc.

No where but country hopping in Europe. Take trains from place to place or rent a car. See a few countries and see the land. Eat unbelievable food, drink great wine, do a bunch of free walking tours.

Prague

Edinburgh. Catacombs tour, fringe festival. Brugge, Belgium. See WWI sites including Flanders Fields and drink amazing beer. Brugge is also a very charming place.

Indonesia

London for most of what is on your list. Scratch off the beach unless you want to go to Cornwall. Direct flight from Calgary. Or, fly to Italy, go south, sicilly or Puglio.

Georgia and South Carolina. Atlanta, Savanah, Hilton Head, Charleston. Less Jet lag, great food, cemeteries, music and amazing cultural sites with the bonus of beaches if you need a day off!

Iceland is supposed to be amazing & there are some great deals lately. It is on my wish list for this summer.

I have to toss in a Chile recommendation. I have lived here for five years and it is super beautiful with lots to see and do with such variety. Flights are a little more expensive but worth it

Nova Scotia!

Flying to Halifax and doing a Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island Tour would be high on my list. Recommended this for some friends a few years ago who had never been back east and they rate it as one of their best vacations ever!

I have to agree with you Rodney. We went last year (drove) and I want to go back and spend more time.

I went to Nova Scotia last January - so lovely, and I think summer would be even better (and certainly warmer)

If you liked it during winter time, you will love it during summer time!! Maritime winters tend to suck!

Just booked Mexico City! 310 + tax return.

Costa Rica! Heat, swimming, walking, good food. Flights are only $399 inc tax return so maybe that's less than flying to maritimes.

Mexico City was a wonderful surprise.
