Leslie you can always throw a dart
. I will see you there.
Ian
Lisa you could end up in a place like Mariana Trench or St. James Town, Toronto.
Eric
For SE-Asia, I already had extended layover in Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Amsterdam (between 12h and 36h).
Be careful, not all Asian countries are fully reopened!
Stephani
Eric which airlines did you use for the long stopovers?
Luluu
South Korea. When we went we had an overnight layover in Seoul.
Ken
Hong kong, but covid. Shanghai, but covid. Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea
Danish
Hanoi in my opinion. Nice contrast to what HCMC offers. Also, it's Northern Vietnam, so you can experience both the north and south
Leslie
Danish we will be finishing our tour there!
Ken
Leslie they are night and day different. Pro tip: yes in HCMC you can wake up at 3:20am and go out for a bite to eat on bustling street and then back to bed. Hanoi is not like that as i learned when i went out of my room around 10 pm to find the city closed lol it's colder there and short shop hours.
Be sure to try jackfruit. My greatest discovery in Asia after curry rice in Japan.
Ed
Tokyo, Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore are all great.
Christin
Shanghai, Hanoi, HCM, soul
Carlo
Japan is still closed.
Eileen
We stayed in Siem Reap Cambodia for 3 days enroute to Vietnam. Beautiful.
Eileen
Leslie if you can take the night scooter tour in Saigon ( what the locals call the city) it was outstanding. Vietnam is simply beautiful.
Trish
Seoul korea
Amber
Hong Kong, China, Japan are on the way, but basically closed for stopovers. Soeul is the best option, Manila next. If you want to go further out of the way, then there is bangkok and Singapore.
Stephani
Hi! I’m wondering the same thing, but we go in December. How do you get a 3-4 day stopover without booking separate flights? I know I did this through Cathay years ago but I can’t figure it out now. Any tips?
Chris
Stephani Just need to use the Multi-City function on major search sites. Search for a flight like this: https://www.google.ca/travel/flights/search...

Chris thank you!

Taipei is amazing! Great food. Amazing culture. It’s the oddest Asian city in that it’s well organized and not congested. People literally sit on the floor of the train station and eat lunch on the floor. The city is that clean. It’s an odd ugly cute city. You’ll see when you visit. You can’t help but fall in love with it. People are ridiculously nice.
Paulina
Japan all the way

Alana

Where to Stop on a Flight to Ho Chi Minh City in November
If you're planning a trip to Ho Chi Minh City in November, you may want to consider breaking up the flight with a stopover in another city. This can be a great way to see more of Southeast Asia and experience different cultures.
Here are a few suggestions for 3-4 night stopovers on your way to Ho Chi Minh City:
- Bangkok, Thailand: Bangkok is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with plenty to see and do. You can visit the Grand Palace, Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), and the Chatuchak Weekend Market. You can also enjoy the city's nightlife, which is some of the best in Southeast Asia.
- Singapore: Singapore is a modern and multicultural city-state with a lot to offer visitors. You can visit the Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Zoo, and the Sentosa Island. You can also enjoy the city's shopping and dining scene, which is world-class.
- Phnom Penh, Cambodia: Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia and a great place to learn about the country's history and culture. You can visit the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. You can also enjoy the city's nightlife, which is on the rise.
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and a modern and multicultural city. You can visit the Petronas Towers, the Batu Caves, and the National Museum. You can also enjoy the city's shopping and dining scene, which is very diverse.
These are just a few suggestions for 3-4 night stopovers on your way to Ho Chi Minh City. There are many other great cities in Southeast Asia that you could visit, so do some research and find the one that's right for you.
