Southern China Airlines were awful in my experience, dirty planes and rude staff. I heard Malaysia Airlines is supposed to be one of the best but no personal experience to report.http://www.worldairlineawards.com/.../airline2013_top20.htm

I noted that as well. It doesn't say much for validity of the list, does it?

I just got back from Perth this Sunday and in fact I did fly Malaysian, the fact that they have recently had a tragedy makes them the safest airline in the world right now!! They are a good airline and often codeshare with japan airlines who are wonderful. Just my thoughts.
Annette
How long did you go for and how much did you pay for your flight?

We went for 3 weeks. We took the deal advertised here a while ago with Malaysian airlines, we got tickets from Vancouver to Bali for $752 return with taxes and then brought air Asia flights for 330. Fantastic deal, we spent 3 days in Japan 1 night in Malaysia and 5 days diving in Bali, the rest was in Oz!

I flew back and forth from van to Perth 9 times... I flew with singapore airlines, awesome.. Malaysian airlines, also awesome. cathay pacific was great. air china or China air I can't remember was mediocre and air canada as always was awful.

We just did the Malaysian flights, the code share with japan airlines was the best service I've had in ages. Malaysian was fine.
Alisia
We paid about $1100 return each, via Tokyo
