Nikko, Japan is a cool place to visit. Doable for a day trip if you're looking to do something different.

Afuri Ramen shops are everywhere, they serve a pretty unique yuzu flavoured broth. For day trips, Kawagoe, Kamakura, Okutama, Mt. Takao.

I'm a true fan of ichiran ramen. Fast and delicious and the best ramen I've had.
As for day trip, Kamakura gives you just about everything you could ask for, including a nice beach.
