Venice is a place you can wander around and pop into museums that interest you. The DaVinci museum was cool and not too busy. Consider taking a boat over to Istria for a few days-Croatia) Rovinj is beautiful. Anywhere the boat from Venice takes you East will have beaches you can swim in-and not too crowded by European standards. Though the beaches are not white sand. If you head further East from Rovinj to Pula you can experience a huge Roman amphitheatre/museum there. That is not crowded. Robert Plant did a concert there the night before we visiting- the arena is a fully functioning outdoor theatre. (You would need a few days though and a re-wiring of your itinerary to do this. ) Have fun.

Take the ferry to murano and burano when in Venice. St Marks, you must have covered shoulders.

Florence is known for their leather so at least take a look at their markets. They have some great pieces. Just remember a lot of places in Europe are closed in Sunday’s so keep that in mind. I didn’t know what when I went to Munich. Has to reschedule our plans

I know everyone takes a gondola tour in Venice but there’s a reason. Venice is best seen for the water. I also recommend going to the islands of Murano (glass making), Burano (lace making), and Torcello (total peace and beauty). Easy to take either a tour or just the water bus that will take you to the different islands. Venice is a wonderful place to visit.
In Rome, I recommend going to the Villa Borghese. The gardens are beautiful and the collection inside the gallery has some of the greatest sculptures you can see (Bernini’s David and other statues are a must). Entry to the gallery is for only 2 hours at a time and should be booked online several weeks ahead. We went with viator and it went well. I had already seen the Vatican and Trevi fountain before so this was the real highlight of room for me. Just sitting and people watching in the Piazza del Popolo was great too. We heard reggae and opera live just sitting at the fountain in the sun.

In Rome...St Peter in Chains. I have seen hundreds of churches...this one is my fav!

Venice could really be done in a day or two. Definitely a cool place to see at least once in life.
Munich has tons to do and see. I suggest the free walking tour (sandemans). They do also have beer garden walking tours which are always fun. English garten. Olympic park. Nymphenburg palace. Literally soooo many beer gardens it’s fun to just hop around between. Good shopping in and around the main square (Marienplatz)

Venice, take the ferry to Murano and Burano. Florence, beautiful night view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo. Rome is going to be HOT so my best tip is to bring an empty spray bottle (Goody makes a slim one that can be purchased from London Drugs) and mist yourself to stay cool. We were there a few years ago in July and most of the sites are open air and exposed. Even museums don't have AC. Rome has free water fountains everywhere so even to refill. Munich for sure go to Neuschwanstein and if you are into history, Dachau is a must.

When in Rome it’s an easy day trip to Pompeii. Extremely cool. You can likely arrange this through your hotel. The vatican museum is unreal. Even for non catholics. Consider doing a skip the line tour to avoid the those notorious long waits to get in. Get up really early a couple of mornings and watch the locals start their day. Very cool. Always ask the server for their food recommendations and try something different! Venice is very cool too. Enjoy
Flora
Yes to getting up early to walk around. We had a morning train from Venice and walking around was completely different without the hoards. The vibe is definitely old school. Really liked it.
Valentin
I would skip venice if I were you and focus on the countryside around Florence.

When in Rome, visit Vatican. Even if you are not into art museums, this one is a must see as it truly has amazing collection. Another place to stop by, of course, is Coliseum. Pantheon and Trevi fountain some of my favourite places there. Rome has huge amount of fountains and they are pretty day or night.
Florence - I love art museum but hasn't been to Uffizi yet. Definitely will do it when next time there. Of course, Santa Maria di Fiore - huge landmark. From Florence you can take a day tour not only to Cinque Terre, but to Siena (stunning cathedral and very neat town with lots of history and traditions), Pisa (famous tower), Lucca or San Gimignano. They used to have hop on hop off buses there. Well worth buying the ticket as it will take you to all the famous places.
Venice - Murano, San Marco square, gondola ride, bridges and Grand Canale. I was in the Doge's palace, but wasn't impressed. I think that venice is good as it. Expensive, though. Again, from there you can make one day trips to Verona (Romeo and Juliette), Padua (amazing cathedral and park).

Use viator for all your tours and skip the line so you are not waiting for hours in the hot sun!
Emily
Florence and Tuscany was my favorite part of Itsly. Loved Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa (tower of Pisa really is awesome) and Cinque Terre. Lots of great day tour options from Florence.
Michele
Cinque Terre .... it’s a day hiking trip from Florence and you visit 5 towns off the coast
Sherene
Here’s a tip. Most if not all venues sell skip the line tickets directly. Including the Vatican Museum. No need to pay an extra tour fee or wait in the tour group line. You get to walk past ALL of them.
Darlene
Agree to go to Venice to see at least once! Go to the Peggy Guggenheim house/museum if you like art. Cool place and outside veranda by the canal.
Take a walking tour of Florence and Rome, and Vatican. Good way to skip the lines and the guides are professors who know their history. (Tours of Italy, I think is the group we went with).
Johanna
When I Munich I suggest side trips to neuschwanstein castle!
Gerald
In Florence, the Uffici is very crowded. I suggest the Bargello museum nearby. Great collection of sculpture by Michaelangelo and Donatello
Joanne
depends on your interests. I love the Mercato Porcelino in Florence. Authentic. And there’s a gelato shop that won top prize for its red wine based gelato
Kathleen
In Florence the Firenze pass no longer lets you skip the line. Do NOT buy it. You can make reservations to get into venues to make your wait in line much shorter.

It’s easy....whatever you do or see, it will be awesome

From Florence do a day trip to Cinque Terre. If you are into shopping there are great outlets outside of Florence including a huge Prada one called Space

If you have choices go to Cinque Terra!
