Sarah
Cinque terre is by far the best place I've ever been! The locals are so friendly, food is amazing, manarola has a cool swimming hole in the ocean and of course the hikes between each town!!
Terri
We stayed in an airbnb in Monteroso al Mare and hiked between all the towns last year. 100% happy we stayed in the Cinque Terre and did not train in and out. Hiking so nice before all the tourists arrive...lol. Monteroso is cute and has a huge swimming beach. We flew straight to Venice then took the train to Monteroso. From there we trained down with stops in Florence, Rome and Sorrento (to see Pompeii). Awesome trip! Enjoy

My best advice is to get the app CityMaps2Go by Ulmon. Super helpful for navigating the cities and you can tag and bookmark places like attractions, restaurants, etc.

Be prepared for high heat and humidity in the month of July!

I believe you will need to register in advance to enter Cinque Terre. Thanks to its overwhelming tourist popularity.
