Hey guys. My boyfriend and I are going to Puerto Vallarta in a couple weeks. Trying to get ideas of things to do that we can plan. We're not staying on a resort. Preferably something easy to get to as we aren't renting a car.
Suggestions appreciated

Rythym of the night!!!
You take a boat to this island at night and there's a live show there. We went there for our honeymoon. It was so awesome.

Also go to the hidden beach called playa del amor. You have to duck under the water and swim to get into the cave. It's pretty neat!

I agree Rhythm of the Night If you can time it right, take the excursion to the island during the day, there is snorkeling & scuba available. Bring a change of clothes for the evening.
Bucerias has a big market, town square, some history you might want to check out

I loved las caletas. Suggested a friend do but she did it at night and hated it. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it either. Really beautiful during the day.

PV is very easy and safe to get around on the bus. Old PV is the best. Don't bother pre booking excursions as there are lots of options in old PV just watch out for time shares. Rhythm of the nights is a must and have heard the day trip to the island is wonderful too. That would be the only one I might consider pre booking.

Exciting Things to Do in Puerto Vallarta Without a Car

Puerto Vallarta is a vibrant destination that offers a wealth of activities and attractions for travelers who prefer to explore without renting a car. Whether you're looking for cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, or simply relaxing on the beach, this coastal gem has something for everyone. Here are some fantastic options to consider during your upcoming visit:

Explore the Malecón

The Malecón is Puerto Vallarta's iconic seaside promenade, stretching along the city's shoreline. This lively boardwalk is lined with restaurants, bars, street performers, and stunning sculptures. Take a leisurely stroll, enjoy the ocean views, and soak in the local atmosphere. It's an excellent spot for people-watching and sampling delicious Mexican cuisine.

Visit the Zona Romántica

The Zona Romántica, also known as the Romantic Zone, is a charming neighborhood located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Wander through its cobblestone streets, admire the colorful buildings, and discover hidden gems like boutique shops, art galleries, and cozy cafés. This area is easily accessible on foot from most centrally located accommodations.

Take a Boat Tour

Embark on a boat tour to explore the stunning Banderas Bay and nearby islands. Popular options include snorkeling tours, sunset cruises, and whale-watching excursions (during the appropriate season). Many tour operators offer convenient pickup from hotels in Puerto Vallarta, making it an easy and hassle-free experience.

Visit the Isla Río Cuale

The Isla Río Cuale is a picturesque island located along the Cuale River, just a short walk from the Malecón. This charming spot features a market with local artisans selling handcrafted goods, as well as restaurants and cafés with outdoor seating along the river. It's a perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon and experience the local culture.

Relax on the Beach

Puerto Vallarta is renowned for its beautiful beaches, and many of them are easily accessible without a car. Popular options include Playa Los Muertos, Playa Conchas Chinas, and Playa Las Gemelas. Spend the day soaking up the sun, swimming in the warm waters, or indulging in beachside dining and cocktails.

These are just a few of the many exciting activities and attractions that Puerto Vallarta has to offer. With a little planning and an adventurous spirit, you'll be able to create lasting memories without the need for a rental car.
