In point form where is the best area to see world war stuff

Ypres Belgium. Everything is in a 100km radius from there

We did a guided bus battlefield tour ( 10 days ) and a yr later a self guided tour (10 days) where we rented a car. GPS in the car and we also had our Garmin with a Europe card in it. No problems driving from Hamburg to the beaches of Normandy and back to Hamburg.

Bought the Euro card for the Garmin from Staples. Will be using it again later this month in Holland and Germany Most rental cars come with one but I wanted my own just for backup

I was just in Belgium last week. The Ypres area is remarkable for world war 1 stuff. Flanders field museum and so on. Also in Belgium near Oostende is the Atlantic wall museum, miles of trenches the nazis built to keep out the allies. Remarkable. And Belgium is a very easy and lovely country to travel in

We did rent a car in Belgium but it's not necessary. There are excellent guided world war tours that you can take from anywhere you are staying. Or you can get to the Atlantic wall by train and then the coastal tram

Dresden is very neat and it's right by Berlin. It was firebombed and rebuilt. Berlin also has WW2 history.

Belgium is great for history. We drove and no problems.

Belgium and northern France!

Northern France - Vimy, Dieppe, Juno Beach, Normandy, Mulberry Harbour at Arromanches. We drove to them all last year and visited many of the cemeteries along the way too.
