trip! My westjet companion voucher expires Jan 9th! Im running out of time! Any suggestions for a cost effective, quick trip no more than 3-5 days in duration within North America? Where have you been that is easy to get to, but had something really neat to do or see?!
We have a baby with us, so family friendly options!
A Mexico trip is already being planned as a different holiday.

We just booked Vegas for similar reason. Staying in airbnb. Going to Hoover Dam, red rock canyon, valley of Fire. Not really doing Vegas at all.

Fallen Rachel Pitussi-Snow where did you stay while in San Diego? Accommodations being cost effective isn't looking so promising so far. Would like to be near a nice beach.

I stayed right down on the beach in a little motel, I remember it being the cheapest one, I'll try to find the name of it!

I second San Diego and would suggest Palm Springs. I just booked today for the same reason and got flights for $670 for 2 people!!

Mexico was inexpensive! Super cheap in PVR! Lots to do and look at!

When looking at options make sure you look that it's not a partner flight. I got excited about a couple of locations to discover all or part of the flight was operated by delta so you can't use companion. (when they display the flights it shows on the left under the flight info) In addition, I ruled out placed like Nashville as 10 hours of travel each way was a lot for a long weekend.

Sarah yes I discovered that when picking Daytona Beach. Spent so much time looking at accommodation etc prior.

I put another one for San Diego just did the trip with our two year old it was great. a three hour flight which we looked at Hawaii and it’s hard to find a direct so it was going to be 10hrs with a stop over. Great weather 21 degrees. We did airbnb which worked out well. And they have something called a San Deigo Go pass which gives you access to everything to do in the city! Aquarium , sea world, zoo etc. we might make it a regular thing

Dylan how was your airbnb accommodations? Not really seeing much near a beach that is affordable.

Just tried to use my companion voucher 2 days ago that expires Jan 7, 2020. To Vancouver from Calgary and back.
The total came to $1050 with a $99 companion voucher
Those vouchers are the biggest rip off!

Certainly little value on short haul flights, you need to want/have to go somewhere that costs a pretty penny and would cost a ton of points. Used ours last year for Halifax and saved the points for the Victoria jaunts.

Hawaii is beautiful! We went with a 2 month old and enjoyed ourselves (more than Mexico tbh). There are great seat sales through westjet too.

If you can use the voucher at anytime and would like to stay in Canada....there is always Halifax, St Johns Newfoundland, or Quebec City

LA! Rent a car, drive the coastline. Visit Manhattan, Newport, Laguna Beach, La Jolla, San Diego. Or go opposite direction- Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara. That area has plenty of things to do, besides Disney, Legoland and Zoo etc..

Linda yeah Disney, Legoland etc are not what I want to do with a baby! Beaches pools and chill is more what were looking for.

San Francisco : Lots of fun not hot this time of year but lots to see and do. Baby friendly.

Texas is amazing and there is a direct flight from Calgary.

Las Vegas - lots to see at your own pace at any time of day - great for a baby’s unpredictable napping/sleep and not a terribly long flight.

Phoenix/Scottsdale all the way! Short direct flights and plenty to do there with usually great weather!

I’m new to the westjet CC and have a companion pass that expires Mar 15. Does anyone know if you have to book the trip by then but could travel say a month after or do you have to complete flight by that date?

San Diego! So much to see and do. Coronado island is my favorite place there.
