airalo is great! Easier to deal with plus it automatically finds a network for you to ensure you always have a stable internet connection

If you’re hoping to use your domestic phone number or a foreign phone number to make calls you will be disappointed. Roaming data is very common and airalo is a very good choice. Making calls using FaceTime or whatsapp is a useful option when you have roaming data.

Used Nomad e-sim when we were in Europe and it was awesome
Shannon
We had great luck with airalo when we went to Italy. Our daughter was there for a semester and used airalo with no issues.
Melanie
Nomad was great
Chris
Jen There are some airalo eSIMs that come with a phone number. The number is based in Europe. Google the airalo Discover+ Global eSIM.
Physical SIM cards are so common and cheap in Greece though, you might just want to use a local physical SIM card which usually comes with a number.

Just buy one at the airport in Athens when you arrive
Really cheep for 2 weeks

Annie so they sell them At the Airport? Looking for a data solution as Telus international rates are ridiculous.
Annie
Darly yes I am with Telus too
So when I go to Malaysia or Thailand I get a local chip put in and can text for about $9 in each country
Telus just ripped me off on a 7 day cruise to Alaska and it was on roming I hate them
Darly
Annie thank you, I will do that, sucks about your Alaska trip tho. $16/day for roaming is ridiculous.

Best SIM Card for Phone and Data in Greece
If you are planning to visit Greece for 2 weeks and are wondering about the best SIM card for both phone and data, you have several options to choose from. One of the most popular choices among travelers is Vodafone Greece. Vodafone offers good coverage throughout the country and has various prepaid plans that include both calling minutes and data.
Another option is Cosmote, which is also a reliable provider in Greece. Cosmote offers competitive rates for data packages and has good coverage in most areas. Wind is another provider to consider, offering affordable plans for both phone calls and data.
When it comes to getting a SIM card, you can either purchase one in-store or order one online. If you are arriving in Greece and need a SIM card right away, it may be more convenient to buy one in-store. However, if you prefer the convenience of having a SIM card ready before your trip, ordering one online could be a better option.
Overall, the best SIM card for phone and data in Greece will depend on your specific needs and preferences. It's a good idea to compare the plans and prices of different providers before making a decision. Whichever provider you choose, make sure to check if your phone is unlocked and compatible with Greek networks before purchasing a SIM card.
