Anyone know how much travel vaccines are? I can’t find actual prices online. I see here that London Drugs is cheaper than a travel clinic, but what are the actual prices? Likely looking for Hep A/B, yellow fever, typhoid and rx for diamex. TIA!

I went to the Travel Clinic before going to Egypt earlier this year. Got yellow fever, Hep A and C, dukoral booster. Might have been one or two other things in there. Cost around $200

Vancouver coastal has the best travel clinic! They will tell u if they think something is a waste of money to get

Costco is a cheap place for medication, I think u will need a doctors not for the vaccine, then go to a walk in clinic or your doctor

Go to a travel clinic. They will tell you what you need for where you are going to travel, and provide a lot more advice than just vaccines. Pay the money. It's your health.

My kids and I went to my dr. And got a prescription for a few of ours and since they are covered it was free.

10 years ago I got my yellow fever shot in Panama for like $15

I got an rx from gp. Hep A should be covered by extended health. Typhoid isn’t covered by my plan and it’s $37. London drugs will do the shots for $18 each. So I’m going to take the vaccines back to my gp to administer.

Depending what vaccines you need, it generally cost me between $100 and $200 to get a while boatload of them...

I went to a travel clinic where I found out the typhoid shot is good for 2 years, whereas the live vaccine (pills) is good for 5 years.

There is a pharmacy by cobs that do travel vaccines!

I suggest getting Twinrix for Hep A/B together. One of the Heps needs 2 boosters over several months so the sooner the better (can't remember which). If you get them separately it costs way more.

Typhoid is free through your family doctor and the others might be covered under your benefits (hep, yellow fever and malaria was under mine)

Yellow fever vaccine was difficult to obtain due to vaccine shortages last year so I had to get a partial dose. Initially I tried to get it from a pharmacy and the doctor but nobody had it so I was stuck going to the travel clinic. I wasn't impressed with the travel clinic because they charge more than pharmacists. Personally I find it annoying that private travel clinics can exist considering our health care is public. For some things you can simply see your doctor. The only thing that the travel clinic does is research what medical risks there are where you are going. Then they scare you into spending a lot of money to protect yourself. For example, Malaria. I was told Malaria is a risk almost every country I was going to. To protect myself from malaria I was told to take pills for a week before and after and all through my trip. The pills that were recommended to me costed $10/day which is $300/mo. My friend who lives in Kenya got malaria once. She is poor. She could never afford to pay $300/mo to protect herself. So when she got Malaria, she went to the doctor and they simply treated her with pills. It was affordable for her and she got well soon. So the point is that some things can simply be treated if you get infected. The other point is that the travel clinic was trying to scare me into getting the malaria protection even for countries that were not really a risk of malaria and they were trying to scare me away from the cheaper options. Facebook opinions will be very helpful. As for my Malaria risk, I never took any meds and I travelled the world. I got sick a few times and had to go to a doctor once but it only costed $70 (Thailand). The real risks are food and water. Drink bottled and remember that food safe is not common knowledge.
