Have never been, but many people talk of staying at Casa Particulares? On this groups home page in the search box on the left, type in Cuba - all threads of Cuba will come up, then type in Casa Particulares and all threads pertaining to that will come up
Anne
Yes. If you are Canadian you can travel freely in Cuba
Briony
Thanks
Briony
I heard back from air bnb support.
"Unfortunately all tourists are prohibited from travelling with airbnb to Cuba as it is a government restriction that is in place."
Beth
There are plenty of rentals out there. When i was there last week it looked like they all used booking.com maybe try that?
booking.com
BOOKING.COM: The largest selection of hotels, homes, and vacation rentals

http://www.casaparticular.com/ Try this site and send them a direct message. After that let them know where else your planning to go. They can also arrange casa for those cities.
CASAPARTICULAR.COM
casa particular .com - Cuba, Budget Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Family Homes
Briony
Thanks!
Nancy
For Canadians you can choose the ‘support for Cuban people ‘ category and book Casa Particulaires. No one checks your categories and think of your choice of Casas as a way to help support local Cubans so you’re not lying. If you’re American then you may be asked to prove your support when you leave Cuba or enter back into the US. Receipts for Museums or Spanish lessons or Salsa lessons would do it.
Briony
Thank you Nancy, this was the reassurance I was looking for. I just wanted to make sure noone would be negatively affected if I used the 'support for cuban people' option
Nancy
Briony. I did this in February 2017 - no problems. Kept a few receipts just in case but no one cared

Using Airbnb in Cuba
Airbnb is a popular website for booking vacation rentals. However, due to the US embargo on Cuba, there are some restrictions on using Airbnb in Cuba.
One of the restrictions is that US citizens are not allowed to travel to Cuba for tourism purposes. This means that if you are a US citizen, you will not be able to book an Airbnb in Cuba unless you have a valid business reason for traveling to Cuba.
If you are not a US citizen, you will be able to book an Airbnb in Cuba. However, you should be aware of the following restrictions:
- You must have a valid passport and visa to enter Cuba.
- You must book your Airbnb through a licensed Cuban tour operator.
- You must stay in your Airbnb for at least two nights.
If you are planning to use Airbnb in Cuba, it is important to do your research and make sure that you are aware of the restrictions. You should also book your Airbnb through a licensed Cuban tour operator to ensure that you are following all the necessary regulations.

Anyone know anything about using airbnb in cuba? It's asking me to state my business based on US law, and tourism isn't an option...
