iceland air!! Look and book soon though! I booked for 3 for under $3000 middle of summer to Frankfurt. Which is very decent. The flights are on their way up though so get on it soon. I think iceland air offers flights to several Euro destinations, so search around if you are open to ideas.

If you are adventurous enough, rent a car, we did it in 5 weeks and went to quite a few places, arrived in Frankfurt, Germany then picked up a rental car, covered Austria (Vienna), Budapest (Hungry), Romania, Crotia (Sebnik, Split, Dubrovnik), Italy (Venice, Cinque Terra), Nice, Monte Carlo (didnt stay long as it was too expensive), Marseillaise, (France), Spain (Valencia, Barcelona), France (Salzburg), and back to Germany. We had not been before but using GPS. Trip was planned months before, so we know what we want to see and do when we arrived. Car rental wasn't that expensive if you are going in a group so you can split the cost. This way you get to see lots and on your own time.

Affordable European Getaways for Summer 2023

With summer just around the corner, many travelers are on the hunt for budget-friendly European destinations. Europe offers a wealth of cultural experiences, breathtaking landscapes, and rich histories, making it a perennial favorite for vacationers. However, with fluctuating exchange rates and varying costs across countries, finding affordable options can be a challenge.

Portugal: Coastal Charm on a Budget

Portugal has long been a budget-friendly gem in Western Europe. From the vibrant streets of Lisbon to the picturesque Algarve region, this country offers a perfect blend of urban and coastal experiences. Accommodation and dining options are relatively inexpensive, allowing you to stretch your travel budget further. Consider exploring the charming towns of Sintra and Óbidos, or indulge in the famous Port wine in the Douro Valley.

Croatia: Adriatic Jewel with Affordable Delights

Croatia has gained immense popularity in recent years, but it still remains a relatively affordable destination, especially when compared to its Mediterranean neighbors. The ancient city of Dubrovnik, with its iconic fortified walls and stunning coastline, is a must-visit. However, venture beyond the touristy areas, and you'll find hidden gems like the picturesque island of Hvar and the pristine beaches of the Makarska Riviera, where your money can go a long way.

Poland: Cultural Treasures and Wallet-Friendly Experiences

Poland offers a perfect blend of rich history, vibrant cities, and budget-friendly prices. Explore the charming streets of Krakow, marvel at the architectural wonders of Warsaw, or venture into the stunning Tatra Mountains. Polish cuisine is hearty and delicious, and accommodation options range from cozy hostels to affordable boutique hotels, ensuring you can stretch your travel budget without compromising on comfort or experiences.

Tips for Maximizing Your European Adventure

  1. Travel during shoulder seasons: Consider visiting Europe in late spring or early fall when prices are generally lower, and crowds are thinner.
  2. Explore lesser-known destinations: Venture beyond the well-trodden tourist paths to discover hidden gems where costs are often more budget-friendly.
  3. Utilize public transportation: Most European cities have excellent public transportation systems, which can save you significant money compared to renting a car or taking taxis.
  4. Stay in apartments or hostels: Consider renting an apartment or staying in hostels, which can offer substantial savings compared to traditional hotels.
  5. Embrace local cuisine: Indulge in local street food, visit markets, and dine at family-run restaurants for an authentic and affordable culinary experience.

Whether you're seeking cultural immersion, stunning landscapes, or a blend of both, Europe offers a wealth of affordable destinations that can cater to every budget. With a little planning and flexibility, you can create unforgettable memories without breaking the bank.
