Bruges, the Venice of the north. We're going March 4th, push the Vaca back and join us!

Trieste, Italy!!!! Tucked in a quiet corner of the Adriatic Sea with plenty to see! Explore Roman ruins right out front your hotel, catch a boat to Croatia for a day trip, or explore Miramare Castle. Trieste is a dreamy to explore and the food is amazing! You won't regret it.

This sounds amazing! I have never even heard of Trieste. How many days would you recommend here? We are thinking about doing two locations if we have the time.
Veronica
I never heard of Trieste before either but spent 5 days there in the summer. I day dream about it every day and want to move there for a year. It's overlooked by tourists but there is so much to do! You can wander around by yourself and feel totally safe. I would recommend at least 3 nights. It's a good home base. Another home base is Vicenza. Small city, things to explore, but quick access to main cities via public train for $4 CAD. While in Vicenza, I would jump on the train and spend a day in Verona, Venice...,

Honestly anywhere. It’s Europe and it won’t be as crowded. Ive been twice at that time of year. The first time we spent our time going from Brussels to Paris, Amsterdam, around Ypres. The second time we spent most of our time in and around Nice with no issues at all. Great weather and did I mention no crowds
Katharin
Yes, Italy. I went to Bologna for a week with day train trips to Ravenna and Verona and then to Venice via train for Carnavale. Fantastico...no crowds except for the first days of Carnavale. Great weather and terrific photos and food especially on Bologna.
Wendy
Nice, France for sure. It isn't hot - but it is nice and not nearly as crowded as in the summer.
Shannon
I second this! I was still able to go without a jacket in late Feb/early March. I’d go again at that time of year because I hate crowds. Also a great home base to explore along the coast and into the mountains.
Mary
Stay south for the weather. We like the the Algarve in Portugal or the Costa del Sol in Spain.

Here are some suggestions for the best places to visit in Europe during this month:
1. Venice, Italy
Venice is a magical city, and visiting during the famous Carnival season in February adds an extra layer of excitement. The iconic Venetian masks, elaborate costumes, and lively celebrations create an unforgettable atmosphere. 2. Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland's capital, Reykjavik, is a fantastic destination in February for those seeking to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights. The long winter nights provide ideal conditions for aurora viewing, and the city offers a range of activities, from relaxing in geothermal pools to exploring the stunning natural landscapes nearby.
3. Andalusia, Spain
Andalusia, in southern Spain, boasts mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine in February, making it a perfect escape from the winter chill. Cities like Seville, Granada, and Córdoba offer a rich cultural experience, with stunning Moorish architecture, vibrant tapas bars, and flamenco performances.
4. Vienna, Austria
Vienna is a true gem in February, with its elegant architecture and rich cultural heritage. The city's famous opera houses and concert halls come alive with performances, and the cozy cafés provide a warm respite from the winter weather. Additionally, the city hosts various Carnival celebrations and balls, offering a unique glimpse into Austrian traditions.
5. Tenerife, Canary Islands
If you're craving a taste of summer during the European winter, Tenerife in the Canary Islands is an excellent choice. With its year-round mild climate and beautiful beaches, Tenerife offers a perfect getaway for those seeking sun, sand, and relaxation.
