We are heading there in May so are looking for recommendations of hotels, tours, and islands you’d recommend. We will be there for 10 days and she is a huge history/sports buff! Thanks in advance

Flown Lufthansa twice to Frankfurt, both times in economy and both times were positive experiences.

I fly well in excess of 100,000 km a year for work. I find Lufthansa economy one of the very worst. Having said that, I find Lufthansa Premium Economy one of the very best PE cabins around. If you can swing premium economy then I recommend Lufthansa. If you can’t, then I suggest flying Air Canada Rouge directly into Athens from Toronto. In my opinion, AC Rouge, which is not very good, is on par with Lufthansa economy.

Kristy, when you say "points" I hope you're not referring to Aeroplan, as a Lufthansa redemption through them is a terrible value. You'll pay as much, if not more, in surcharges and taxes as you would buying the fare outright through, say Condor/Agean (i.e. May 4-14 search on Google Flights), plus you have to give up your miles.

I just did the same trip with my mom last summer and Lufthansa is my first choice for flights. I fly frequently to Europe and prefer it over Air Canada, KLM and Air France. Lufthansa and Air Canada often merge flights though so you may end up with a flight purchased by Lufthansa and operated by Air Canada

It’s OK... similar. I flew to India on Lufthansa (two 11 hr flights). I would say “comparable”. Yes one give you wine the other has better TVs... the same. Rouge is definitely inferior IMO. Less space. No entertainment (you need an iPad or phone and your neck will regret it)
In short: unless you’re flying Emirate, Singapore Airlines or alike, they all even out. So go with the cheapest option.

I had a very bad experience when I was travelling with a baby on my lap with Lufthansa. They were very rude. I prefer Air Canada.
