Looking for an Adults-Only, Quiet All-Inclusive near Playa Del Carmen?

Question:

Profile picture of Jennifer

I am headed to Mexico for an all-inclusive vacation for my honeymoon. I have never done an all-inclusive; looking at all the resorts and reviews is overwhelming!
I want to stay near Playa Del Carmen with adults only, that is NOT a party resort (looking for a quieter time). Obviously looking 4 stars and up.
What resorts would you suggest? I was looking at the El Dorado Royal, but the reviews have me hesitant. Help please!

I second Huatulco! It’s walkable and safe. Stay at Quinta Bella. Not an all inclusive but great food and prices. Walk to Le Cruceita or Santa Cruz. Night life if you want or great restaurants and early nights if you choose. Splurge and get a room with a plunge pool. Worth every penny

Last Sept we honeymooned at tje Secrets/ Dreams in PV. They were lovely and definitely NOT party resorts. I am sure they would be the same where you are looking to stay. Congrats and have the best time!

El Dorado Royal is that the same as El Dorado Seaside Suites? Seaside suites would be a great place for a honeymoon. Karisma resorts are awesome-excellent food and location. I think you are on the right track!

Not sure if this place would be up your alley, but it’s only 10 min from playa del Carmen.. beautiful area and they do all inclusive resorts as well

Royal Hideaway was nice. Buffet really only for breakfast. Dinner has a dress code and menus. Food was great, a lot of choice, very helpful staff and a concierge for every building. Just remember to book your restaurants for the week when you get there. We got a good deal through Costco

Another vote for El Dorado Seaside Suites. Get a swim up suite.

We stayed at the Renaissance Cancun Resort & Marina in March. Brand new hotel, excellent amenities. Hotel overlooks marina and there is a shuttle to a private beach club. While not all inclusive this was by far the best Mexico vacation experience I’ve had. Mostly locals at the hotel. The hotel has an infinity pool and the private beach club has three pools including an adults only area, all rooms overlook either the marina or ocean (this is an extra at other all inclusives). The price for us ended up being cheaper than what I’ve paid for an all inclusive. There is also an outdoor mall adjacent to the hotel with great dining choices. My second option would be to recommend Hotel Ziva. There is no fighting over beach chairs in the morning or for space at the pool.

The Fives Beach and Residences was awesome. Went there in April. Quiet resort 7 pools 21 Villas. Has a Jungle in the middle of the resort where you can see spider Monkeys and Coatis. Food is awesome..outdoor entertainment. Restuarants have very good food. There is an adults area there. But we went to the pools near us and there would be maybe 12 people in there. The pool by the beach is very busy. I like it low key and they have swim up bars. Check it on westjet vacations

I second the Fives; we got married there. There is an adults only section with an adults only pool when you want that vibe. I’ve been to lots of resorts and this by far has the best food.

Hilton Playa del Carmen if you want to be right in town. Secrets Maroma is also fab.

For me it’s Grand Bahia Principe or Valentine. Valentine was a smaller & in my opinion more adult/couple oriented. Bahia on the other hand was always a fun time and very large with 3 or 4 (I can’t recall) resorts in one.

JOIA paraíso by iberostar fits your needs 100%. It’s adults only, not a party resort, near playa del Carmen (you can take a taxi into town). The food was incredible. When I was there it was mostly couples 30 and up.

I like the Grand Hyatt because it’s downtown . For the beach - Secrets is adults only and very nice.
Make sure you go to pharmacy and get Dukoral vaccine. It’s been a game changer for our vacations in Mexico and we no longer get ill. AI buffets are sketchy for GI bugs

Jo-anne Nugent Sexsmith I have never had the vaccine and I have never had a problem. Even Puerto Vallarta has the tap water listed as safe to drink. I wouldn't, just to be safe. I'm going to Mexico in 2 weeks, again, and no vaccine.

Have stayed at El Dorado Royale in a swim up suite and also stayed at the Haven Riviera with a swim up suite… Haven is low-key and newer than the El Dorado Royale… Although we had a great time at both resorts, fwiw the El Dorado was showing its age in 2018. Do some YouTube room tours we watched many.
