we have used auto europe several times with good success - they re a consolidator - free cancellation up to 24 hours before you are due to pick up - just be aware of extra charge for dropping off in a different place than were you picked up and to fill the tank before you return - make sure you put your place of residency as Canada so that you get your quote in CAN $ - https://www.autoeurope.com

This is the same company that I was going to recommend, I rented for a one whole month in and out of Barcelona, 300 Canadian dollars.

I rented from them also, I got an American Express gold card and used that for the rental so I didn't have to buy extra insurance. I also got the GPS but it took me on some crazy route when we drove from Ronda to Sentinel.

if you have a GPS already just download the European maps - it will be cheaper than renting - I never completely trust a GPS and always have a paper map as backup as well as the GPS - get one with a large scale 1:25,000 is a good scale

Tips for Finding Affordable Car Rentals in Spain
Spain is a popular tourist destination, and renting a car is a great way to see the country at your own pace. However, car rentals can be expensive, so it's important to do your research and find the best deal.
Here are a few tips for finding cheap car rentals in Spain:
- Book in advance. The earlier you book your rental, the more likely you are to get a good deal. Many rental companies offer discounts for early bookings.
- Compare prices from different companies. There are many different car rental companies operating in Spain, so it's important to compare prices before you book. You can use a comparison website like Expedia or Kayak to find the best deals.
- Consider your needs. Do you need a large car or a small car? Do you need an automatic or a manual transmission? The type of car you rent will affect the price.
- Look for discounts. Many car rental companies offer discounts for members of certain organizations, such as AAA or AARP. You may also be able to find discounts by booking online or by using a promo code.
- Be prepared for additional costs. In addition to the rental fee, you may also have to pay for gas, insurance, and parking. Be sure to factor these costs into your budget.
By following these tips, you can find an affordable car rental in Spain and enjoy your trip.
