I absolutely love San Fran!! Obviously Alcatraz and the golden gate! There is a lot of really cool speak easy’s there too! I was pregnant when we went so we didn’t go.
There is a restaurant called the stinking rose. If you like garlic I would absolutely recommend eating there.
The trollies are ok. The tour buses are awesome.
The Haight-Ashburry district is a tiny bit sketchy but if your down for an adventure it is soooo cool! It’s very transient and eclectic.
We also did a sunset dinner cruise through Horn Blower and the food was amazing and there is a full on Dj and dance party on the boat!
The fisherman’s warf is also pretty cool.
Sorry that’s a lot of stuff hahaha there is so so much stuff to do there. Definitely bring your walking shoes. We walked everywhere! The warf is decently close to little Italy so we walked around the city a lot.
I hope you have so much fun!
Tia
Oh also just a tip. Check out Groupon. We got a few of our activities through there for a fraction of the price!
Kristen
WOW! Thanks Tia! I forgot you went!! Those sound like some great places! I LOVVVEE garlic! haha!
Tia
Kristen McQueen yes. I can’t wait to go back again. There is a few things we didn’t get to see. The Redwood forest was on my list but 5 days was absolutely not enough time lol
Leila
LOVED Haight street, sketch and all.. definitely not a tourist vibe which is nice! And stinking rose is a must try!!
Andrew
Amazing place believe you need to book in advance tho
Tia
Andrew yes!! We booked 2 months in advance! And the night tour is a waste! Go during the day. You have better chances of meeting one of the ex-prisoners that comes and does speeches!!
Kristen
Tia Thanks guys! We got Alcatraz booked already! Super excited to see it!
Tia
Kristen McQueen it’s really cool! Again it’s lots of walking. Lol up the side of a very very steep hillside. Lol
Leona
Alcatraz - definitely and rent a bike and bike across to the bridge and into the little town and take the ferry back...awesome ride
Kristen
Awesome! Thanks!
Christin
Leona agreed! This was our favourite memory!
Leona
Christin - when we were there - I think the last prisoner alive was there signing his book. it was so cool...
Pandora
We are going first week of October. Can anyone recommend hotel/area to stay? We enjoy walking or biking so want something where we can do this
Tia
Pandora holiday inn express near the Warf!!
Sandra
Pandora I second the holiday inn. Nice and convenient, decently priced, clean hotel
Pam
Pandora avoid The Tenderloin at all cost!
We just stayed at Club Donatello in union square and it was nice
Pandora
Pam yes we were warned about Tenderloin Will check out Club Donatello
Tanya
Pandora we actually did a neighbourhood tour of the Tenderloin put on by the Tenderloin Museum. The museum explains the history of the area really well. I wouldn’t recommend going down there at night alone.
Pandora
Tanya that sounds very interesting
Kristen
Pam were staying st the Donatello! Glad to hear you liked it
Nadine
I did the hop on hop off bus tour. A really great way to see a lot of key interests in a short period of time. Also a good way to scope out a lot of things so you know what ones to return to and spend more time at
Rosellin

If you love chocolate, a visit to Ghirardelli is always great. And have an ice cream or a sundae while you are there.
Tracey
Book alcatraz early and make sure it's the one that you can actually go onto the island . There is one that only tours around it.
Sandra
Joe's crab shack is awesome. The electric bike tour, segway tour and of course Alcatraz. Pier 49 is amazing and we rode the top of the double decker bus all over the place. Great way to see the city. Have so much fun!! You are going to love it

I found that you really have to watch your stuff and the people around the fisherman wharf . Got into an arguement with a homeless lady . I was a child she wanted my non seat . She got it then proceeded to give me heck for it . Had a bad taste for the whole place after that . I was sitting on a table that the seat was missing and its was like sitting on a metal pole . She got the pole . Where she did not wanted then got mad at me for it . She yelled at me for 5 minutes for it . Why was I getting abused ? My mom gave her heck and told her your yelling at a kid .

Tony's Pizza Napolentana!!! He has won awards in Italy and Vegas! If you do go make your reservations on yelp first as there is always a 2 hour wait in the evening! Unless you go right at opening for lunch.
