Call a travel agent for visitors to Canada insurance.
Will cover USA portion as long as the stay there is less days than in Canada.
Allianz and RBC are good choices

Travel Insurance for Canadian Non-Residents Visiting the US
If you are a Canadian citizen but no longer a resident of Canada, you may need to purchase travel insurance when visiting the United States. This is because your provincial health insurance plan (MSP) will not cover you outside of Canada.
There are a number of different travel insurance companies that offer coverage for Canadian non-residents. When choosing a plan, you should consider the following factors:
- The amount of coverage you need
- The types of coverage you need
- The cost of the plan
The amount of coverage you need will depend on the length of your trip and the activities you plan to participate in. If you are only planning on staying in the US for a short period of time and will not be doing any high-risk activities, you may be able to get away with a lower amount of coverage. However, if you are planning on staying in the US for an extended period of time or will be participating in high-risk activities, you should purchase a plan with a higher amount of coverage.
The types of coverage you need will depend on your individual needs. Some of the most common types of coverage include:
- Medical expenses
- Trip cancellation and interruption
- Lost luggage
- Emergency evacuation
The cost of travel insurance will vary depending on the company you choose and the amount of coverage you purchase. Be sure to compare quotes from different companies before making a decision.
Once you have purchased travel insurance, be sure to keep your policy information with you at all times. You may also want to make a copy of your policy and leave it with a family member or friend.

I am looking for travel insurance for a family member visiting Canada and the U.S. They are a Canadian citizen, but no longer a resident of Canada. Places like Blue Cross only offer coverage if you have an existing MSP plan, which you must be a resident for. Any advice would be appreciated.
