Hi Friends -
My husband and I will be travelling to India for our belated honeymoon in November. We will be arriving in Delhi, looking at doing the golden triangle (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur) then going to Jai Salmer and Aurungabad. Currently, for our last week there, it's a toss up between heading to a tiger sanctuary, the Andaman Islands or Darjeeling-Shillong afterwards? (I know, big differences geographically)
We are looking for recommendations for any of those plac… See more

Although alluring the golden tri is a shit show. Full of scammers and tourists. Spend the smallest amount of your trip there if at all. Hampi and southern india were absolutely amazing. Trains are cheap fairly safe and quite reliable.

Check out On The Go tours Emily! They can build custom tours if you don't want to be in a group. But group rates are always more affordable. Short stays too only a few days.

Hi Emily
I travelled for a month through India January 2016. I went with the Victoria Women's travel group.
First time there and came home with over 1700 photos and incredible memories.
Stayed at the Metropolitan in Delhi. Would recommend you do the Old Dehli tour with trip advisor. Be prepared India is amazing but a complete Masala in every sense.
I did Agra and Rajahstan. Favourite places were Jaisalmer and Pushkar.
Travelled then to Cochin Kerala for another view of the country. Getting warm even the end of January so you should be fine.
Enjoy!! I loved it!

Unveiling the Enchanting Destinations for Your Indian Honeymoon

Congratulations on your belated honeymoon! India offers a treasure trove of captivating destinations, each promising a unique and unforgettable experience. To assist you in planning your last week's itinerary, here are tailored recommendations for a tiger sanctuary, the Andaman Islands, and Darjeeling-Shillong:

Tiger Sanctuary

For an exhilarating wildlife adventure, consider visiting one of India's renowned tiger sanctuaries:

  • Ranthambore National Park (Rajasthan): Home to a large tiger population, Ranthambore offers thrilling safaris in its diverse landscapes.
  • Bandhavgarh National Park (Madhya Pradesh): Boasting one of the highest tiger densities in the country, Bandhavgarh provides excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings.
  • Kanha National Park (Madhya Pradesh): Located in the heart of India, Kanha is known for its scenic meadows and abundant wildlife, including tigers, leopards, and sloth bears.

Andaman Islands

If you crave pristine beaches, turquoise waters, and coral reefs, the Andaman Islands are a tropical paradise:

  • Havelock Island: Renowned for its postcard-perfect beaches, Radhanagar and Vijaynagar, Havelock offers snorkeling, scuba diving, and sunbathing.
  • Neil Island: A smaller and quieter island, Neil offers secluded beaches, crystal-clear waters, and opportunities for snorkeling and swimming.
  • Ross Island: Once the British capital of the Andamans, Ross Island is now a historical site with ruins of colonial buildings and dense forests.

Darjeeling-Shillong

For a hilltop retreat amidst breathtaking scenery:

  • Darjeeling (West Bengal): Known for its aromatic tea plantations, Darjeeling offers stunning views of the Himalayas from Tiger Hill.
  • Shillong (Meghalaya): The "Scotland of the East," Shillong boasts waterfalls, lakes, and rolling hills, providing ample opportunities for trekking and scenic drives.
  • Cherrapunji (Meghalaya): Hold your breath at the breathtaking sight of Mawsynram, touted to be the wettest place on Earth.

Each destination offers a distinct charm. Choose the one that aligns with your interests and preferences. For further assistance, consider consulting a local tour operator or travel agent who can provide personalized recommendations and arrange bookings.

Enjoy your honeymoon and create cherished memories in the vibrant and diverse land of India!
