Hello fellow traveler friends... My family and I (husband and a 2 year old girl) are visiting London the beginning of may for a couple of days. Do you guys have any suggestions of nice places to visit and eat? I'll appreciate you taking your time to answer.

I found all the terrible places to eat Haha! So I’m curious what people come up with.
I loved wandering around covenant gardens. Hyde park was really lovely. DEFINITELY go to Harrods. I saw all the usual tourist things too Tower of London and Westminster abbey etc. The museums can be an all day event. Victoria and Albert and natural history museum were my favourite - a little one would really love the natural history museum.

A lot of the time I would go grab take away lunches and snacks and have food on the go to make the most of my time. Marks and Spencer’s had great fruit and sandwiches and such to grab and go.

even places like Tesco's or Sainsbury's you can get sandwiches etc

maybe it was just my luck that I found the quality better at M & S. I bought plenty of wine at Tesco lol

M&S is also a good choice and rather economical as well - was just adding to your comment

In London, there are 2 very casual (ie. cafe food) places that I can recomment where your daughter would be very happy in a lunchtime/afternoon situation. There is a kid's play area with picnic tables and a take-out cafe in Kensington Park at the north west end. Your daughter would not have to sit still, but could play a little while you are eating.
I would also recommend the eating area (both indoors and out) at Kensington Palace. There is a better selection of food here, and it is a casual place. You do not need to pay for the tour to use the cafe - just walk in. Please note that I am not referring to the Orangerie, but rather the cafe right on the ground floor of the Palace.

Just got back. London is crazy expensive so do what we did and use yelp. Be super picky and you’ll find great food like we did! Natural History and Science Museum are great for kids. British Museum is incredible but for a 2 yr old not so much. Tower of London great too. Take a hop on hop off bun and or a River Thames ride to do less walking with a little one and still see the sites. We loved Covent Garden, Leicester Square areas.

We did 2 tours with these guys that were great. EAIaIQobChMItdm3oO282gIVDtRkCh0kSgAmEAAYASAAEgJpj_D_BwE I'd also highly recommend the Tower of London (do the Beefeater tour which is included). The River Thames boat ride was good and it ends in Greenwich so you can see the Prime Meridian (and the filmed parts of Thor there). Get a subway pass and you can go check out anything quickly. We checked out a few things off Atlas Obscura which is a super cool site to find less famous neat things to do. This was one of our favourites and it's right by the Tower of London. Camden Market is quite the place and it's got a ton of food vendors. http://httpsw.atlasobscura.com/.../the-ruins-of-st...

I lived/worked in London for 13 years and we always took visitors to the Tower of London and on the River Thames tour. I would add the London Eye to that list, too! The Natural History Museum and the Tate Modern are fab and
Covent Garden is a must - lovely for wandering around. Best posh shop is Selfridges (Harrods is gorgeous, but touristy; Selfridges and Harvey Nics are where Londoners go). Tons of sandwich takeaway places such as Pret à Manger, M & S, etc and casual dining is good at Strada, Pizza Express and Wagamama - locations throughout London. Have fun!

Dishoom is one of my favorite restaurants in London (Kings Cross location is good - make a reservation or expect to queue). Visit the Sky Garden for a great view of London (for free). You can you for a drink or meal at the shared (AquaShard) which is on the 32nd floor and get good views again. For casual food on the go then Pret a manger / M&S are good options. Avoid eating in restaurants around Leicester Square unless you have a personal recommendation. There are lots of amazing restaurants in London but depends on your budget. Bob Bob Ricard is a good restaurant. Head to The Savoy for afternoon tea

Loved Dishoom!! But they didn’t take reservations and there was always an hour plus wait. So one day we went at 4:45 thinking we’d beat the line but it was already half an hour wait. We stuck it out and it was so good!

Susan you can make a reservation up until 17:45 - provided its not fully booked but it is very popular. I wish there was something similar in Vancouver

Zizzi's is a great family friendly restaurant. We visited London with an 11 month old. She had fun at the Diana memorial playground at Kensington Palace.

I have lived in London fro 20 years, and just returned 2 days ago from a mini weekend there... There is so much to do in London, and not all is costly.... the best things to do in London is to walk (push a baby stroller) in the pedestrian areas.... The Embankment area is totally great (Shakespeare theatre, old pubs... etc.... ) and you can walk miles, cross the Thames further down by the Millenium bridge , visit the Modern Tate, etc... have in sight London Bridge & Tower....Bermondsey.... really this is a very good walk, away from the cars.... I also would Absolutely Recommend Borough Market on Fridays and Saturdays... You will nibble for free of the delicious sample from the UK countryside, and if not grab some delicious food from one of the stall, and eat in the Southward Cathedral Park..... and when you are done, just walk a very short distance and go the Shard.... the best view of London... from the top, you will be able to have a panoramic of this great capital, grab a glass of Champagne if you must
.... most museums are free, the V&A just finished a Winnie the Pooh exhibit....kids go free....Chain Restaurant (Zizzi, Pizza Xpress, Prezzo, TAS, ...etc... cater for kids , at low cost, and with kiddies coloring stuff...)..... and I would suggest to do a day of out of LDN... Go to Brighton , and have fun by the "Sunny Seaside" , 1:30 hr ride by train... Have fun in London!
