We’re heading to the Riu Santa Fe on oct 8.. they have a kids club and a water park next door

Dont drink the wine at the Riu Santa Fe.. trust me. If you like wine.. even the cheapest bottom rung wine you can get at home is better tha the stuff that pass off at the resort. Bring your own or pick some up at Walmart in town. Also, the buffet is probably the best meals on site. The reserved dinner spots when I went a few years ago weren't that great for the effort it takes to make it happen in your day.

Santa Fe is not 5 star...3.5 or 4 at best. I've stayed at the Santa Fe....its nice, been there a few times. Riu Palace next door is a step up. And yes...dont drink the house wine...I agree with Alyssa on this one!

Thanks guys. The RIU’s are 3-4 star. I’m really looking for a super nice one however the Grand Velas is $6k a person so i guess nothing that high.
Anyone been to dreams or Playa grande?

The Riu Santa Fe is not 5 star, however it is still a great resort. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I haven't been in a number of years; but I understand they've recently built a waterslide park at the Riu complex (for use by Palace and Santa Fe guests). I'll be going back next spring.

Riu Palace was just renovated and it's gorgeous. The Santa Fe is nice, but it's a little tired looking.
I went to the Hacienda Encantada last year and that was definitely a 5 star!

If you want to be close to downtown Cabo, look on airbnb. You won't have the "all inclusive" but then you can try the local restaurants. There's lots of condo properties with awesome pools/play areas. I find it's actually much cheaper to go this route. Plus I'm not a fan of the massive resort complexes.
