If you miss the first leg of the flight Seattle to YVR chances are very high that all the remaining legs of your flight will be cancelled.
Marina
That is true - they will cancel everything. In those situations we book "multicity" usually under advanced options. Its a little more but not bad.
Kimberle
They will cancel if you are a no show in Seattle. For a small fee "change fee" most airlines will cancel that first leg so you depart from YVR. You must call the Airline you booked with or your Tour Operator, which ever option you used for the original booking.
Kvin
well,i think worth for pay"change fee" if less than 30$ instant of go to seattle ,cos i know getting a nonstop ticket from yvr to jp is atleast 200$more
Kimberle
I agree. The cost to travel to Seattle may equal the fwe. The fee becomes more expensive the linger one waits to change

Can I Catch a Connecting Flight at YVR to Japan?
If you have a 1-stop flight ticket from Seattle to Japan with a stopover at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), it is generally possible to catch the connecting flight from YVR to Japan, even if you did not take the initial flight from Seattle to YVR.
Understanding Connecting Flights
When you book a flight with one or more connections, the airline issues you a single ticket for the entire journey, regardless of the number of stops or airlines involved. This means that your reservation includes all the connecting flights you need to reach your final destination.
Catching the Connecting Flight at YVR
If you are already in Vancouver and have a valid ticket for a connecting flight from YVR to Japan, you can proceed directly to the departure gate for your next flight. However, there are a few important steps you need to follow:
- Check-in for your connecting flight at the airline's counter at YVR. You may need to show your identification and the confirmation number or e-ticket for your entire itinerary.
- Get your boarding pass for the YVR-Japan segment.
- Go through security and proceed to the gate indicated on your boarding pass.
It's important to note that you should arrive at the airport well in advance of your scheduled departure time, as you will need to go through the check-in and security screening processes.
Potential Issues and Tips
- If you miss your connecting flight due to delays or other issues, contact the airline immediately to rebook or make alternative arrangements.
- Some airlines may require you to reconfirm or reissue your ticket if you did not take the initial flight from Seattle. Check with your airline's policies and procedures.
- Have your e-ticket or confirmation number handy, as well as your identification documents, to facilitate the check-in process at YVR.
In most cases, as long as you have a valid ticket for the entire journey and arrive at YVR in time for your connecting flight, you should be able to board the flight to Japan without any issues.
