Have you looked into the
Atlantis Bahamas? My family was just there and it was wonderful. So much to do for all age groups. My 9 year old nephew, and 12 and 14 year old nieces just loved it!!
If you like Hawaii then the Bigislandhawaii is amazing!! There is a stop in Vancouver but the island is worth it!! So much to do! Volcanoes, beaches, hiking and so much more.
Darren
Atlantis is crazy $$$ isn’t it? I have looked though and it looks pretty cool. And agree on Big Island - it’s on list BUT likely save for a longer trip with the entire family. This is just my daughter and I and my better half gets a little upset if we do anything too exciting without including her!
Tonia
Darren yes at.antis is a bit expensive. If you stay on the resort though you get access to places the day pass doesn't let you. The watermark is awesome. We went to. Grocery store to help control cost. You can rent a fridge in your room for 16 a day. Some rooms include it.
Jim
RIU Jalisco,,,PV Mexico awsome place for a family.
Darren
Looks great. All inclusive I assume? Any damage from recent hurricanes? You’ve been before?
Jim
yup,,all incl. no dmg,,very nice clean place,,great kids stuff to do aswell,,awsome staff great food.
Jim
been there atleast 10 times,,,just got home 4 days ago...LOL
Darren
Can you book flights and hotel separately or best to book through an all inclusive vacations company? Online said $225/night which is not bad assuming that is the all inclusive rate.
Darren
Just noticed you are from Barbados! That was original plan lol. My dad was going to stay for several months but it was too hot for him and he said the island was “dirty”. He came home after a few days. That’s why we have the aeroplan credit, we were going to visit before he bailed.
Jim
when were you going??
Darren
We’re flexible. Feb maybe. Or you mean Barbados? We were supposed to leave late tonight!
Jim
I just checked for you,,,mid Feb, about $2,100for a wek,,but that will drop closer to departure date.
Jim
no Mexico
Darren
That’s $2100pp. They must charge full price for kids as went to $4200. $224/night (USD) for room online. May work well if can get flights from Aeroplan.
Jim
get a travel agent to check if a flight is cheaper then just book the resort alone.
Darren
I’ll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion. Riu looks like a good brand - I’ve looked at a few.
Jim
you want the RIU Jalisco,,the palace is alot more money and boring.
Debi
Panama

Darren
I’ve been to Curaçao and agree it’s a pretty cool place!
Sherryl
Belize.
Darren
I have heard great things about Belize! It’s definitely on the short list.
Jan
Definitely Belize. There's a great tour company owned by an ex Vancouver it's. Look for adventures in Belize
Nora
The company is Island Expeditions and their trips are fabulous.
Laurie
We went to Aruba it was is awsome
Ken
Machu Picchu and Galapagos
Darren
Definitely on “the list”. Maybe wait until she’s a little older though. And likely a family trip vs. just Daddy and daughter.
Sue
Will send you pm.

Where to Go Next?
It sounds like you have some exciting options ahead with your Aeroplan Miles to use up! Since you've already explored some amazing destinations like Seattle, Disney World, Costa Rica, Miami, and Hawaii, it's time to think outside the box for your next adventure with your 9-year-old daughter.
One suggestion could be to consider a trip to Puerto Rico. It's a quick flight from many North American cities, offers direct flights, and is filled with warm weather and fun activities for both kids and adults. You can explore the beautiful beaches, historic Old San Juan, and even take a day trip to the stunning El Yunque National Forest for some outdoor adventures.
If you're looking for something a little different, you could also consider a trip to Belize. With direct flights available from some North American cities, Belize offers a mix of adventure and relaxation. You can explore ancient Mayan ruins, go snorkeling or diving in the Belize Barrier Reef, or simply relax on the sandy beaches.
Alternatively, if you're open to the idea of an all-inclusive resort for some chill time, you could look into options in Mexico's Riviera Maya. With direct flights available, you can enjoy the convenience of a stress-free vacation with plenty of activities for both kids and adults. From swimming in cenotes to exploring ancient ruins, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Whatever destination you choose, make sure to check for any travel restrictions or requirements due to the ongoing pandemic. And most importantly, have a fantastic time making new memories with your daughter!

So the Barbados trip fell apart (long story lol) so now have some aeroplan Miles to use up within a year. Any suggestions for a quick/easy flight (direct would be preferred) somewhere warm/fun that my 9yo daughter and I could go to? We have almost 80k miles to use up so could go anywhere in North America (including Hawaii), Caribbean or Central America. We’ve done Seattle, Disney World, Costa Rica, several islands (via cruises mostly so short stops), Miami, Kauai and Maui. Looking for something a little different. May even consider an all-inclusive which typically is not our style but maybe good for some chill time. Thank you.
