The Barcelo Maya Beach is fab!
Leanne
Sandos Caracol Eco Resort is a great family resort near Playa del Carmen. Lots to do right at the resort including a huge water park (check height restrictions), Mayan Ruins, animals, and cenotes. The food was really good, my only downside was that the beach is not great. It’s quite rocky in the ocean.
Keli
We just came from this resort 2 weeks ago- kids absolutely loved every second of it! You can also go to their sister resort which is a short cab ride where to beach and ocean are amazing!!
Nooni
Keli hi, do you recommend bringing pool toys to this resort or they have them?
Nooni
Keli How far is it far is it from airport? & One more question please, did you make reservation when you got to resort or did it ahead of time?
Keli
Nooni yes I would bring some dollar store blow up tubes and dive toys. They do not supply any of that. Once we were heading home, we gave them to other kids to use in the pool.
Keli
Nooni it wasn’t that far from the Cancún-Chetumal airport, maybe 1/2 hr? We booked a private shuttle service. There is a bus that will also get you there through the resort but you have to stop at other resorts first so it takes longer for sure.
Nooni
Keli did you make reservations to restaurants before hand or had to make them when you get their sorry for 1000 questions i tried calling was no answer.
Nooni
Thanks so much for taking time to answer my questions
Keli
Nooni we didn’t have to make reservations at any of the restaurants except the Brazilian- the Brazilian though is in an adults only area of the resort so kids are not allowed there before 8pm as an FYI.
Nooni
Keli Thanks so much really appreciate it
Keli
Nooni np!

This resort is wonderful. So many activities/stage shows/cultural events.
The have actual ruins right on the resort. Snorkeling in the onsite cenote was awesome.
The beach isn't great, but you get free access including food and drinks to Sandos playacar. Which has one of the nicest beaches in the world.

Sandos caracol eco resort and spa
Nicole
Love oceans riveriera paradise. Been 3X. It’s an h10 property.
Steph
Nicole careful at this resort
Many many people with children have left the resort with HAnd Foot and Mouth
They don’t clean after being told many times about it
I believe it’s the pools the kids are getting it from
They don’t seem to take to serious at all. there was an entire family of 5 kids at the resort with it, plus some of their friends kids, then my Kid got it, my niece got it,then I was told by many families after we left that their children got it as well for months after and still hearing it!
Nicole
Steph good to know.
Jennifer
Grand moon palace, cancun
Donna
Second Grand Moon Palace! It is absolutely AMAZING! Only downside is the beach is full of seaweed but you have a choice of like 8 pools and a waterpark!
Jennifer
Donna waterpark was closed when we were there but opened last summer I think
Donna
we were there this March and it was open. The BIG ones on the other side weren't but the body slide, one tube slide, kids area, and lazy river were all open.
Jennifer
Donna yes this was last Feb only the lazy river was open
Cristina
Principe Coba Tulum . Amazing.
See
Vicky Champion
Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and you get access to the Riu Dunamar
Roxy
Grand Bahia Principe Has a kid friendly water park . I think it’s called Coba.
Karen
I second Sandos Caracol Eco Resort
Susan
Grand Palladium has a great kids pool
Candi
Sandos Caracol for sure. Stay in the Superior Family Suite with bunk beds.
Marianne
Candi how was the beach?
Larry
Marianne it's not great, but you also get free access to the sister resort. Sandos playacar, (including food and drinks) with one of the best beaches in the world.
Larry
Sandos playacar is more of a jungle setting, the have monkeys wandering around, and so many activities.
Candi
Marianne Rocky in the water, water shoes required for sure. Lots of seaweed but changed day to day and is the case for all resorts along the coast. The resorts try to stay on top if it. My kids prefer the pool/waterpark so it wasn't a big deal for us. We did go to Sandos Playacar for the day as well. The beach is nicer there & you can go in the water no problem.
Vivienne
Grande Bahaia Coba has a great water park ,
Chas
Grand Palladium in Mayan is an amazing resort with great baby and kid facilities/kids club and fairly priced in general!! Loved our vacation here!! Food was good and unlimited a la carts!!!!
Mariana
Hard Rock Riviera Maya has an awesome waterpark and playpark for the kids . Very clean resort .

Denise
They are all great on that side , but try Isla Majeras it’s fantastic for family’s .
Amanda
Sandos Caracol. Waterpark for both big & little kids. Cenotes to swim in and hidden natural grottos. Kids were feeding monkeys right out of there hands. Pettimg zoos. Kids club & water sports. Lots of pools. The beach was nice but water rocky.. definitely go spend a day at the sister resort for better beach. Depending on ages of your kids, they also have a teen club & kite surfing lessons.
Anya
Hotel Xcaret México just got home from there and it’s amazing. Free access to all 9 xcaret parks.
