Boat & Bike from Bruges, Belgium to Amsterdam. (Or vice versa) Awesome trip. Definitely get the ebikes, no one gets left behind and plenty of sightseeing and a great guide.

Scott Logan loved this trip!

Thanks for that. It does sound good!

I’ve done 3. The barges I liked best were the Fiep and the Iris. Bruges to Amsterdam was my favourite trip. You can msg me if you like

Jennifer thanks so much for that. I’ll let my husband know and we’ll think about it

We did a bike tour (self guided) through Tulip Cycling. They supplied bikes, helmets, GpS, first aid kit and arranged accommodation.

Bike and Barge Experiences in Europe: A Delightful Way to Explore
Bike and barge tours have become increasingly popular in Europe, offering a unique way to combine cycling and exploring charming towns and villages along scenic waterways. If you're considering a bike and barge adventure, you're in for a treat! Here are some insights and suggestions to help you plan your unforgettable journey.
The Bike and Barge Experience
A bike and barge tour allows you to cycle leisurely through picturesque landscapes, stopping at charming towns and villages along the way, while your comfortable barge serves as your floating hotel. Each day, you'll embark on a new cycling route, exploring the local culture, cuisine, and attractions at your own pace. At the end of the day, you'll return to the barge, where you can relax, enjoy delicious meals, and prepare for the next day's adventure.
Choosing the Right Tour and Location
When it comes to choosing a bike and barge tour, there are several factors to consider. First, decide on the region you'd like to explore. Popular destinations include the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy, each offering its unique landscapes, cultures, and culinary delights.
As for the time of year, spring and fall are often the best seasons for bike and barge tours in Europe. The weather is mild, and the crowds are smaller, allowing you to enjoy a more relaxed and authentic experience.
U-Tracks is a reputable company that offers a wide range of bike and barge tours across Europe. They provide well-maintained bikes, comfortable barges, and experienced guides who can share insights into the region's history and culture.
Tips for a Memorable Experience
- Prioritize flexibility: While the tours typically have a general itinerary, be open to adjustments based on weather conditions or unexpected opportunities.
- Pack light: Remember, you'll be carrying your belongings on and off the barge each day, so packing light is essential.
- Embrace the local culture: Take the time to explore the towns and villages along the way, savoring the local cuisine, visiting museums, and interacting with locals.
- Stay hydrated and nourished: Bring plenty of water and snacks to fuel your cycling adventures.
- Enjoy the journey: Remember, the beauty of a bike and barge tour is the combination of cycling, relaxation, and immersion in the local culture. Embrace the experience and create cherished memories.
Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, a bike and barge tour in Europe offers a unique and unforgettable way to explore the continent's stunning landscapes, rich history, and vibrant cultures. With proper planning and an open mind, you're bound to have an adventure of a lifetime.

Has anyone done a bike and barge in Europe. We are looking at trying one. I’m hoping not to spend the whole day biking. I’m fairly fit but I want to enjoy the towns and restaurants as well. Not sure what countries to go to, or spring or fall? I have looked into the company U-Tracks. They seem quite good. Also I’ve never been to Europe before so, I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance
