I was in San Jose this January. Stayed at this place called Kaps Place. Was only there for a day. Didn't see much. Mostly historical buildings and museums I assume:)

Trip to the Arenal volcano area is nice. You can do a river boat tour where you see crocs, herons, monkeys and if your lucky a sloth or 2
Andrew
Manuel Antonio. Also research the dog rescue. Not far from SJ and there's 100's of dogs
Susie
Andrew Ynwa K definitely want to check that out!!
Margaret
White water rafting down the Paquare River. Go the class IV rapids on the overnight excursion. It's well worth it. There's lots to see and it's a real big thrill.

Just got back about two weeks ago, absolutely loved Arenal volcano (3 hours from SJ) and Manuel Antonio. Did ziplining, a jungle night tour, and discovered some incredible beaches. Heard the dog rescue is awesome but didn't get a chance to check it out sadly

Sounds great Stephanie Fraser !!
