London, England for a week for sure; then choose some European cities to visit from there.
I did Spain, France and England on my own when I was 19 and it was the best thing I ever did for myself!

I did a contiki tour through Australia by myself for 4 weeks when I was 24. It had everything I wanted - adventure, relaxation and about 90% of the people were my age and single travelers. I met people that I'm still friends with, had the time of my life and learned a lot about myself in the process. It was the best trip I've ever been on

Hostels are a great way to do it cheap, young & on your own. Great hostel in Montreal (a block from the metro, clean & friendly). Hostel in NYC was also good, just a lot bigger (10-person dorm VS a 4-person dorm in Montreal) & in Spanish Harlem; loved it too.

I did London (UK) and area by myself and it was great. So much to see and do. I think London is a pretty low risk place to do as your first solo trip bc it's pretty low risk. Familiar, same language, safe to use public transit. It was my first solo trip and I loved it!

I'd also recommend the UK if it's your first big trip. From there you can hop over the Paris, or really anywhere in Europe for a short stay. Also, $816 return to Osaka, Japan right now.
