Are you committed to the east coast? If not, consider Huatulco. It is a 5-6 hour direct flight from Vancouver and a wonderful area. Something like 9 bays, 32 beaches....very authentic Mexico. Resort area for the Mexican people. We just returned from a 2 week vacation and loved it.
