We stayed at Staunton’s on the Green, not sure of your budget? Quaint 250 yr old building. Location was perfect, walkable to everything and good breakfasts. Sights to see, Temple Bar area, Trinity College and Book of Kells, St Steven’s Green, Guinness Storehouse tour. We did a day bus tour to Blarney Castle. TI very helpful. Street musicians just amazing!

http://www.botanicview.com/ we really enjoyed staying here. a little north of the city, but close to the botanic gardens, Glasnevin cemetary, and the Brian Boru pub. Easy to get into town. The hostess Bernie is awesome.

So much to see but the must do for me is always Kilmainham Gaol. It will open your eyes to the truth about Irish independance. Buy your tickets online ahead of time as it sells out every day.
