There’s the Batu Caves which is out of KL. We did a half day city tour which was interesting. We didn’t get to them but there are a series of suspension bridges through the forest right in the city. There are lots of cooking classes and the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten.

Petronas towers

Depends what you like to do. Are you travelling alone or with family. I lived there for 5 years until recently.

Erin travelling with one friend...

Jon In addition to all of the great suggestions by everyone else. There is a really quite good and affordable dining scene with the equivalent places which would cost much more in Singapore for example. Places like Fuego / Cantalope in Troika . Looking for a cool place for a sundowner try the Helipad. Breakfast/ lunch / dunner buffets at the Mandarin Oriental...you will never be disappointed. Could do a segway tour of Putrajaya or Lake Gardens with Eco Ride Malaysia, the one of Putrajaya that we did exceeded our expectations. Take a walk in Bukit Kiara or Bukit Gassing for some jungle time. Make sure to try satay, chicken rice and chili pan mee. If you get tired of street food try one of the restaurants called The Social, has a great menu local and western foods and location and staff are always good.

Can easily do a day trip to an Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary. Go see the fire flies in Kuala Selangor. While there you can take a walk in quite an intersting park with a mangrove forest, mid skippers and tons of very nice leaf monkeys. There is a nice temple on the way to Genting Highlands not sure if the name.
Erin
Also Bukit Nanas for a short walk right in KLCC.
Erin
Also go to Jalan Alor / Changkat at night. Get a table at one of street restaurants and enjoy the food and atmosphere.

The Islamic museum is awesome, lots of interesting artifacts to see! Little India is also a must. The lebanese restaurant on the 2nd floor of Petronas is great, and the French Thai on the 4th floor (I believe) is also outstanding. LOVE KL!
Susan
For sure take a Street Food Tour.
Susan
We booked a 3 hr tour called The best of Asia Food Tour through “Withlocals” we ended up a group of four. Two hilarious girls from OZ. Our guide Noor was excellent. She took us to many locations like Food Halls and street markets where we were the only tourists.
Judy
The Batu Caves Bird park and butterfly park are all worth it.
Alissa
Great things to do if you’re here just for the weekend too would be appreciated. Really want to do Batu caves. Do most hotels have a tour or something for it?
Erin
Most cabs have meters . Or install Grab app on your phone, its like uber. One of the trains( maybe the ktm) Batu Caves is the last stop so very easy.
Rodel
go to Genting Highlands... very cheap bus fare, around $4 return... u can buy your ticket at KLCC
Stephani
Do the hop on hop off bus tour. It will take you to the KL Tower and Petronas as well as several other must see attractions. Well worth it. Don't forget the Chinese market for great take offs.
