Split is beautiful and needs a day or two but if you have time try to see Krka National Park and Plitvice National Park. Outstanding!

We took a ferry from Ancona (Italy) to Split and spent a week and a half in Croatia. We stayed in Trogir instead of Split - highly recommend. Trogir is a UNESCO protected city - beautiful old city on the water, and you can take a 40-minute ferry between there and Split. Plitvice Lakes is beautiful but we were there in July and it was WAY too crowded - I wouldn’t recommend it at that time. We rented a small boat and skipper in Trogir and spent a day on the water visiting local islands - a fabulous thing to do if you have the time. We also spent time on the island of Pag (you can drive there) - known for its culinary experiences, ancient olive trees and cheese!

Splitting Your Time Between Split, Biograd na Moru, and Split
If you only have three nights in Croatia, you'll need to carefully plan your itinerary to make the most of your time. Here's one possible way to split your time between Split, Biograd na Moru, and Split:
- Day 1: Arrive in Split and check into your hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the city's historic center, including Diocletian's Palace, the Peristyle, and the Temple of Jupiter. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Croatian dinner at one of the many restaurants in the city center.
- Day 2: Take a day trip to Biograd na Moru, a small coastal town located about 30 kilometers north of Split. Biograd na Moru is a popular destination for swimmers, sunbathers, and sailors. Spend the day relaxing on the beach, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, or exploring the town's charming streets. In the evening, return to Split and enjoy another delicious Croatian meal.
- Day 3: Spend the morning exploring Split's waterfront promenade, the Riva. The Riva is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, and it's a great place to people-watch, enjoy a coffee, or simply soak up the sun. In the afternoon, take a boat trip to one of the nearby islands, such as Hvar or Brac. The islands are home to beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, and charming villages. In the evening, return to Split and enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the city's many restaurants.
This is just one possible way to split your time between Split, Biograd na Moru, and Split. There are many other possibilities, and the best way to plan your itinerary is to consider your own interests and preferences.
