A fun city, the highlights of my visit was the swamp tour (try to get a private or very small tour) , loved the graveyard and voodoo tour. The Garden District is a must and of course some jazz in the French Quarter,

Hi Ron Conroy, I'm going to New Orleans next month. do you recommend any swamp tours? also, should we book in advance or can we do it when we get there? thanks!
Ron
I can't remember the name of the tour I went on but I just booked it at the hotel, there are so many tours to pick from. I loved the small personal tour and was well worth the little extra we had to pay. I can't remember what it cost but I am not a big spender so it couldn't have been much more than the bigger tours or I would not have opted for it. Probably trip advisor would be a good bet to check them out but no, I didn't book in advance. There is so much to see and do there, you are going to enjoy it so much. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back. Have fun.

Don't miss the restaurant called August by John Besh. Honestly one of the best food experiences of my life. A little bit on the pricey side but worth well more than the price
Cindy
Sounds like a winner. Thx.

take a city bus tour... it was terrific... the driver was hugely knowledgeable and gave us lots of history and cultural information.

Loved the bicycle tour in the Garden District! The guide is an opera singer. So knowledgeable and friendly
Cindy
