Japan Rail Pass (JR Pass)

Buy the rail pass that is only open to foreigners as it is dirt cheap compared to regular tickets.

Remember you can get the train passes in Canada....don't wait to get them in Japan..Well worth it if you are travelling long distances...otherwise you can get day or week passes if you are staying in just one city....and pay for day trips to places nearby...example..if you want to go to Kobe from Osaka...you can get a day pass boast/train/ day pass for around 25 dollars at the airport when you land there...comes complete with a tour map......

Train is direct and easy
