Sandos Playa Car in playa del Carmen. Pools, waterslides, variety of restaurants. It is a large resort but from the family area in the back would take about 10-15min walk to the beach. We absolutely loved it.
Sean
Barcelo was good, albeit far from the Cancun airport. Steer clear of Planet Hollywood.
Maya
Only if me and Firt can come
Arleney
Any RIU hotel they have lots of kids activities is all inclusive and they have families room with bunk beds also have a kids area and splash park
Shayna
Our kids were almost the same ages when we did the sandos caracol eco resort and it was a great trip! There’s the water park with lots of slides for the little kids (some for the big ones too). Paths throughout the jungle to go exploring and searching for wildlife (lizards), and a cenote for snorkelling. The buffet was so-so but the restaurants were great and they had kids menus with decent meals on them like grilled chicken and veggies. (I didn’t need my kids living off chicken nuggets for the week) The only thing is because it’s an eco resort the water is rocky so bring water shoes if you go into the ocean.
Jennifer
Consider Huatulco
Sheryl
We really enjoyed Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya. We went with a group of 17 people age 4 to 80. Great snorkeling, good food and nice pool areas.
Ruth
Sheryl second this. My only time in Mexico. Noisy pool, quiet pool, lazy river, family-friendly shows every evening. Dolphin show ($).
Shonna
Sheryl And monkeys swinging in the trees! - pic taken on our cabana
Caitlin
Sheryl - I totally agree! We had two families - so 4 adults, 4 kids ages 5, and 2. So much to do, the food was great. And the ocean spot is perfect, as it’s in a cove.
Sherri
Sheryl I'm heading there next week for the first time! Any useful tips? (Travelling with 10 ppl ages 11-67)
Sheryl
Get to the beach early & take a go mug for coffee on the beach. Xel-Há Park for a day was fun but mucho $$. Tulum was interesting for ancient Mayan ruins.
Teri
Sheryl we went for our third and final time last year, it has gone so far downhill. Food was subpar , lazy river cut 2 of our group of 6 and manager t said they would look into it ( they didn’t and a few others around the resort also got cut there after ) it used to be an amazing budget friendly place but we will never go back
Jaime
Sheryl agreed
Patricia
Huatulco is awesome! Always hot, dry and sunny. Las Brisas and Dreams are great. Those are in the Tangolunda Bay which has a few all-inclusive resorts.
Cheryl
Crown paradise club in Puerto Vallarta! Perfect pool for children. No seaweed on this side of Mexico either!
Jenn
Cheryl agreed and also adult pool upstairs with kids club so you can have them babysat for a day.
Kayla
Cheryl another vote here
. It's also a small resort and has a room with bunk beds. It's basically across the street from a grocery store (small Walmart-ish) if you forgot anything.
Samantha
Riu Jalisco in Riviera Nayarit.
Dawn
Samantha we are headed there next week and the reviews are so mixed I don’t know what to expect
Samantha
Dawn I just got back last Wednesday and it was great there. Very clean, good food, great variety of food, friendly staff.
Ashley
Samantha I second this! My 9 year old just went in June of last year with some family
Friends and everyone came back saying good things! Lots to do there!
Agatha

Just came back from The Fives Beach hotel & Residences. In the middle.of thr resort is a jungle with a board walk. You can see spider monkeys, Coati, Lizards there. Each pool has a shallow area. Kid daycare is there. Lots of places to eat (10 restaurants) 7 pools. And kids stay free.
Taunia
Hard rock in Cancun is getting rave reviews in one of my travel groups.
Teri
Sandos Caracol is fantastic, went with our 3 grandkids and there was loads for them to do including the mi I water slides. Food was good and the service was impeccable
Giselle
Royal Haciendas has a kids club, kids shallow pool and splash park.
Playa del Carmen area so about 45min from Cancun airport.
They have 2bdr suites with kitchens and all inclusive packages. We love the kitchen with kids for some easy meals and snacks, milk prep etc.
Karen
Barcelo Maya Grand. Stay at the Beach, Caribe, Colonial or Tropical
Brad
We were at rui emerald bay in mazatlan at the end of February and the resort was great! Waterslides, smaller kid water park and tons of beach space.
Terry
Marina Park plaza in Chahué, Huatulco, Mexico. It’s a condo complex with a pool right outside her main level unit and beaches you can walk to or grab a taxi for 35 pesos.
You would have to contact her, if interested, let me know.
Sharon
Finest Playa Mujeres is wonderful
Becka
Barcelo Maya Palace was amazing! We went last year when my girls were 4, 3 and 1 and would 100% go back
Hailey
Becka - We stayed at the Beach on that resort compound and it was amazing! The Palace looked incredible, as did every one in between. I recommend it all the time!
Lexi
The Ziva in Cabo is great for families
Hailey
Lexi - the Ziva is a beautiful resort but I wouldn't likely take kids because you can't go into the ocean. I'm more of a pool person so I had no issues, but for a family that wants beach and ocean time, it may not be the best option.
Carrie
Iberostar Tucan y Quetzal Vacation hands down. Great wildlife, excellent pools and beach
Jenn
Carrie I recommend any iberostar. Wonderful chain. The Iberostar Parisio was 10/10. Would recommend the Maya one as well

Barceló Maya Grand Resort
Dallas
Great place.
Cyla
Iberostar Tucan!
Mike
paradise village
Hailey
I love Paradise Village so much! My parents bought a timeshare when I was a teenager and we have all enjoyed numerous visits. That being said, it isn't set up well for all inclusive and is expensive to choose that option, so I likely wouldn't choose it for a vacation if that was important.

We are a family of 5 (kids ages 6/4 and under 1). Can anyone recommend a great resort in Mexico, with good amenities, good food and drink that is family friendly? We love the beaches and the ocean and also want great places for the kids to play by a pool.
