Question:

Krista we used our travel airmails to order whistler lift tickets. I think it 650 for one. It's over 100 to ski there.

As long as you book/redeem before Dec you can use for travel anytime afterwards. Im in same boat. Switching to a west jet MasterCard was the b est decision I made lol. Air miles are so much harder to use now its useless! Bet that is their plan lol

thats what I've been trying to do for over 2 months now! I literally cannot find ONE flight to anywhere at any time and they don't show you availability calendars

You could also use it to pay for hotels and buy your air ticket in cash. It is too difficult to find flight itineraries on the airmiles website. So rather than let it go to waste, you can pay for hotels that way since you would probably need to pay for accommodation anyway. That's what I did anyway, airmiles it's a scam

Air miles is a waste of time. I've always had difficulties using them. Last time I tried to get a flight to Cranbrook on a regular ordinary Thursday and apparently none available. I call BS. I think they've completely limited their flights so people can't use their air miles

I just cashed mine in on merchandise and tore up the card

Last time I tried to use them I had to book almost a year in advance to get 4 tickets together. I was told that they only put a few airmails tickets out per flight....waste of time collecting them. I think EVERYBODY should call in an just cash them in and stop using them.

I booked my mom on my airmiles approximately 3 weeks before her flight to Ottawa (week of Remembrance Day). Interestingly, when I searched two weeks before actually booking, the availability was extremely limited. When we booked, there were more options. I don't know if that was the norm as it was the only time I used my miles.

I have used Airmiles for years and we have flown to many destinations both domestic and internationally (Australia 2.5 times even!) The key is to book early, keep trying if you don't see your flights as they add more in as time goes on, and try different routes. I think it is extra busy right now because of this new expiry rule.

I tried with no success, so I bought my tickets

I've never had any issues and I've booked 7 air miles flights this year but I book my flights way in advance to avoid that issue. Sometimes it's easier if you search only one way rather than round trip.

Where are you trying to fly? I've never had an issue given enough advance notice with domestic flights (only thing I find a good value with air miles for the most part), have booked dozens of flights over the years. International flights are definitely limited but why use air miles for those and be stuck with big taxes with airfare so cheap around the world lately?

I think it's hard to get anything right now due to the lack of customer service people even working right now. It's only suddenly that you can't even reach anyone there. I was looking for Vancouver to Palm Springs anytime till April

Weird, YVR to PSP isn't even coming up as an option in the search tool on their website.

Good luck getting through if you need to phone for any reason such as a change . Impossible to contact ! Just forfeited a ticket plus the tax and no way to make a complaint . No e mail to any customer service department . Chopped up the card !

I am also boycotting anything to do with air miles,no more Shell, Safeway, etc. Ripoff!!!

Booking Air Miles Flights

I've been trying to book an air miles flight for weeks, but I haven't had any luck. I've tried searching on the airline's website, and I've even called the customer service number, but I can't find any availability. I know that my miles are about to expire, so I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not the only one who has had this problem. I've seen several other people complain about it online. It seems like the airlines are making it harder and harder to book air miles flights. They're either jacking up the prices or they're simply not releasing any availability.

I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to lose my miles, but I also don't want to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a flight. I'm hoping that someone else has had some luck booking an air miles flight recently and can offer some advice.

Here are some tips that I've found:

  • Book your flight as early as possible. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to find availability.
  • Be flexible with your travel dates. If you're able to travel on a weekday or during the off-season, you're more likely to find cheaper flights.
  • Consider flying to a different airport. If you're flying to a major city, try searching for flights to a smaller airport nearby. This may be cheaper and more convenient.
  • Use a travel agent. A travel agent can help you find the best deals on air miles flights.

I hope these tips help you book your air miles flight. Good luck!
