They have a fairly decent reputation as far as third party booking sites go. Just be aware that their displayed prices usually default to $USD. Might want to make sure that's not the reason it's $100 cheaper than AirTransat.ca ($CAD)

No problem. Yes, and your credit card will usually add another 3% on top when making a booking in $USD. So it can end up costing more than booking in $CAD.

also, I just attempted to book and when I put my credit info in; it said oops prices have just changed and went up $300. I think they don't update their site maybe as often

U need to refresh & clear your search history ... I know they can track when you look up flights etc ... & often afterwards prices will reflect an increase ... Give it a try

One Travel: Reliable Travel Agent or Risky Bet?

When it comes to booking flights, finding a balance between affordability and reliability can be a challenging task. One Travel, a popular online travel agency, has caught your attention with their tempting $100 discount for a Calgary to Paris flight compared to Air Transat's direct offering. However, before you commit to their services, it's crucial to evaluate their trustworthiness and reputation.

The Pros of Booking with One Travel

One of the most significant advantages of using One Travel is the potential cost savings. As an online travel agency, they often have access to discounted rates and package deals that can result in lower prices compared to booking directly with airlines. Additionally, their user-friendly website and streamlined booking process make it convenient to compare prices and select the best options for your travel needs.

The Cons: Potential Risks and Pitfalls

While the cost savings are enticing, it's essential to consider the potential risks associated with booking through a third-party travel agency. Some travelers have reported issues with customer service, flight changes, or cancellations, making it challenging to resolve issues promptly. Additionally, there have been instances where travelers faced unexpected fees or hidden charges not disclosed during the booking process.

Assessing One Travel's Reputation

Before committing to One Travel, it's advisable to conduct thorough research on their reputation and customer reviews. Look for independent review platforms, travel forums, and social media channels where customers have shared their experiences. Pay close attention to recurring complaints or praise, as this can provide valuable insights into the reliability and quality of their services.

It's also essential to carefully read and understand One Travel's policies regarding flight changes, cancellations, and refunds. Ensure that you are comfortable with their terms and conditions, as these can vary significantly from booking directly with the airline.

The Verdict: Proceed with Caution

While the $100 discount offered by One Travel is undoubtedly tempting, it's crucial to weigh the potential risks against the cost savings. If your research reveals a consistent pattern of positive reviews and a strong reputation for customer service and reliability, booking with One Travel may be a viable option. However, if you encounter numerous negative reviews or concerning reports, it may be safer to book directly with Air Transat, even if it means paying a higher price.

Ultimately, the decision to book with One Travel or opt for the airline's direct offering comes down to your personal risk tolerance and the value you place on peace of mind. Remember, a seemingly great deal can quickly turn into a nightmare if the travel agency fails to deliver on their promises or provides subpar service.
