Question:

I plan to visit Vietnam in the middle of March until early April. My passport (Canadian) expires end of June. Will I be required to renew it? Does Vietnam have the 6 month rule? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

I had to re new mine because it was short a week of 6 months when I was getting back into Canada. I was told that I can be denied leaving to my destination because of it and to re new my passport before I left. The country I was going to only had a 3 month rule but they still made me re new.
I would do it just incase so you have no issues.

Vietnam Visa Requirements for Canadian Passport Holders

As a Canadian passport holder, you are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. The visa can be obtained upon arrival at the airport or in advance from a Vietnamese embassy or consulate.

The visa-on-arrival option is the most convenient and popular choice for tourists. It allows you to stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days. The cost of the visa-on-arrival is US$25 and can be paid in cash or by credit card.

If you are planning to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days, you will need to apply for a visa in advance from a Vietnamese embassy or consulate. The cost of the visa will vary depending on the type of visa and the length of stay.

Vietnam's 6 Month Rule

Vietnam does not have a 6 month rule for Canadian passport holders. This means that you can enter Vietnam with a passport that has less than 6 months validity remaining. However, some airlines may require you to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of departure from Vietnam.

It is always best to check with your airline and the Vietnamese embassy or consulate to confirm the visa requirements before you travel.
