Since you're renting a car, you have the flexibility to stay anywhere on the island. However, if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful area, I would recommend avoiding the popular tourist areas of Sliema, St. Julian's, and Bugibba. These areas can be quite noisy and crowded, especially during the summer months.

Instead, I would suggest looking for accommodations in the following areas:

* **Mdina:** This medieval walled city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its stunning architecture and narrow streets. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway.
* **Gozo:** This smaller island is located just off the coast of Malta and is a great place to escape the crowds. Gozo is home to beautiful beaches, charming villages, and historical sites.

There are plenty of things to see and do in Malta. Here are a few of my favorites:

What Has Awed Me

I have been awed by many things during my travels to Malta. The island's rich history, stunning scenery, and friendly people have all left a lasting impression on me. But if I had to choose one thing that has awed me the most, it would be the Megalithic Temples. These ancient structures are a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of the ancient Maltese people.
