Where should our cousin reunion take place for travelers from Toronto, Vancouver, and Australia?

Hawaii is the natural halfway point between Toronto and Sydney. Honolulu is approximately 7500km from Toronto and 8100km from Sydney.
It's around ~14-16 hours of travel time for those flying from Toronto (depending on layover time in Vancouver). Unless you were flying between November and April when there are nonstop flights from Toronto that are 10 hours (Honolulu and Maui with air canada).
For those flying from Sydney it would be roughly 10 hours to Hawaii.
Other than Hawaii there aren't too many relatively 'easy' flights that are halfway between Canada and Australia.
Vancouver now has nonstop flights to Nadi, Fiji on fiji airways. But with Fiji, the Canadians would be travelling a much longer distance. 12 hours from Vancouver. 4 hours from Sydney.
Tokyo, Japan would be about the same distance for those in Sydney and Vancouver (~9 to 11 hours) and 13 from Toronto.
Yoanella
I would go somewhere in the Caribbean for an all inclusive vacation. The above suggestions like Hawaii, Japan or Fiji would be quite pricey
Victoria
Yoanella we thought of this as Canadians (knowing that it’s cheap for us!) but the Aussies say the flights are outrageous for them to head to places like Mexico.
Something along the lines of $4000 each (and then the resort etc on top).
Yoanella
Victoria you guys could do different scenarios and calculate the cost of food per day or meal. And maybe chip in on the cost of flights for the ones further?
Victoria
Yoanella yeah we were thinking of pooling all the costs and then dividing it out. Complicated when the family is splattered all over! I’d be happy to pay more to not have to travel as far (
one of the cousins travelling with kids).
Yoanella
Victoria I totally get it. Me and my siblings live in 4 countries and the ones that live back home live in different cities. Going back home is a great effort for me both in time and budget compared to everyone else.
Cousins would be even worst, there are 95 of us just on my moms side
Emily
Southern California comes to mind - there are non-stop flights to LAX from all of those places and there are endless activities for kids/families.
Barbara
Bali?
It might cost a bit for flights (and not easy) but you can rent a giant villa in the jungle for a bit, then one on a beach for a bit, and your costs while their will be pretty low.

Maybe Thailand ?

Hawaii, LA, or Vancouver are the natural meet up locations from those starting points, with lots to see and do in any of those areas.
It can actually be cheaper for one family to travel furthest and meet at the biggest house or a near by camping area (with borrowed equipment for the flying family), where you can stay and borrow family cars from the host family or the ones that have driven there from nearby.
(I'm near TOR and my family are near BNE and PER, and we've met in various places, similar to how you are planning this!)
Dorothy
Dubai is awesome! And you can find all inclusive resorts there.
Lee
Taiwan? They are going to do some promotion for welcome ppl... Like giving out $220CAD each traveller..
Denise
LA is easy to get to for everyone. Hawaii is awesome but can be pricey.
Darren
Guatemala
Jennifer
Hawaii?
Esskay
Cabo. Direct flights from LA for those travelling from Australia and directs from Toronto, and vancouver. You can do all inclusive or not if you want ease for the people with kids while also giving flexibility and freedom to those without.
Ron
I would go someplace out of season. Then the resort prices are much cheaper. I also agree that it depends on the numbers from each destination. I WOULD PERSONALLY NOT GO ON A CRUISE, but that said, people with families love it. If you’re not doing excursions, it’s a floating entertainment palace. Again, out of season can be wonderful.

Sorry, trying to respond to each of you but FB isn’t letting me. Thanks for all of your responses!

Cousin Reunion Trip Planning
Hey all!
Planning a trip to have a cousin reunion. I don't have a large travel history, so very green when it comes to this.
The cousins would be travelling from Toronto, Vancouver, and Eastern Australia. Half of us have kids ranging from under one to 10, and the kids are flying from Toronto and Vancouver (so go easy on the Canadians eh - the shorter the flight the better lol!).
Where would you well travelled folks recommend we converge that isn't an arm and a leg?
Recommendation:
Considering the diverse locations the cousins are coming from and the age range of the kids, a great option for a budget-friendly and family-friendly reunion spot could be Hawaii. Hawaii offers a mix of beautiful beaches, cultural experiences, and activities for both adults and kids.
Flights to Hawaii from Toronto and Vancouver are relatively shorter compared to other international destinations, making it convenient for the Canadian cousins with young children.
Additionally, Hawaii's warm climate and laid-back atmosphere make it an ideal destination for a relaxing and enjoyable family reunion.
