Is Allegiant a good choice for flying with a baby from Bellingham to Vegas?

Looks like the stroller doesn't cost extra.
Daisy
It's not terrible
Diamond
Personally, the hassle and cost of driving over the border, paying for long term parking, getting to the airport and then flying down is not worth it to save $100 or so.
Alysha
You save a hell of a lot more than $100 bucks.
Diamond
not in my experience (and i've been to Vegas 15 times). I just booked flights for the first week of June on Westjet. Fare plus taxes was about $350. Same day flights on Allegient are $213 US, which works out to about $300 Canadian... which makes the Westjet flights out of YVR cheaper once you factor in gas, parking, and all the extras that Allegient charges.
Alysha
Yes. You are correct. If you don't have flexibility with your dates then you will pay same if not more after exchange. However. When you are flexible with your dates you can get flights there and back for as low as $21 each way. Plus cost of luggage (should u choose to bring a checked bag-which I never do) (been to Vegas 3 times over the last 3 years. Each time going on the cheapest flights I could. $21... Can't beat that price
Alysha
No it's ongoing. Just go to alligent website choose flight route Bellingham to Vegas. Then look at their calendar. Every day they have different prices on flights. The $21 is rare. But $48 is pretty common. I went in November and my flight round trip with all extra costs and exchange worked out to be about $150
Alex
It is bare bones travel, usually a lot cheaper , particularly if you already have a Hotel. Clearing Customs is less of a problem on land than @ YVR. Parking is cheaper, plus you can fuel up on .61 a litre us gas , do some extra shopping when you return. It works for us , only challenge is sometimes they don't run on time.

I've heard horror stories about Alligiant. I wouldn't fly on that airline for anything!!!!
Todd
We've flown several times with Alligiant & with an child under 2 & a stroller. No problems at all. I think we were paying $8 /day to park. You have to clear customs one way or the other so that's a none issue. The only reservation I would have is if our Canadian pesos made it worth while.

Bruce
Flew them had no issues
Alex
Just depends , week after next is like $40.00 us each way plus taxes , same days Westjet $433.00 CDN return
Lloyd
Thanks for all the feedback all! The cost savings are pretty significant, as it looks like my parents want to join as well and the round trip is working out $150CAD vs $350 for WestJet. So that's $800 in total airfare savings. Even with baggage fees, it should be significantly less. Just wondering how the savings would cost me in terms of poor service, uncomfortable flight, etc.
Marion
Alligiante has always been good for us...request the bulkhead if your with children, seating is the same as Westjet.
Alysha
All flights are uncomfortable. Lol. But it's a safe plane that will get u there.
Darrin
its just over a 2hr flight. download their app or print your boarding pass at home. you can park a 5min drive from the airport (with shuttle) for $4/day approx. even with the ugly exchange rate- its still cheaper (and imho- more convenient) than yvr
Rhonda
I've been 9 times and never had much trouble
Flight attendants were awesome and pilots were great.
Well worth the time to save a lot of money.
Sandra
I fly allegiant most of the time to Vegas and other locations they fly to (I flew with allegiant about 6 times). I always do my research and math in advance, and ormally they were about 50% cheaper than flying out of YVR (after considering exchange rate, gas, parking, baggage etc). Absolutely no issues at all. They are also helpful with children with strollers.
June
I've flown allegiant with three kids under the age of five a few times... No problems with the service at all. The exchange rate is a disappointment
Charlene
Flew with allegiant and everything was fine every time,
Edwin
Park at Uhaul, it's $5/day max $25. They have shuttle free (its up to you to gi e atip). We had a trip to Vegas last Oct and no hustle.
Jessica
Flew allegiant to Vegas and Hawaii ( which only cost us 800 total for 2 return) and had no problems at all... I have had terrible experiences with Canadian airlines.
Herb
Flew with Allegiant to Vegas in December. Uneventful flight trip...so ok. There is extra charges for all luggage including carry-on. Overall worth the savings.
Wendi
Make sure you get the travel insurance, if your plans change, they refuse to credit you for the unused flight, we went through that with them..
Cindy
I'm a fan of allegiant for short flights bide them a lot to Phoenix
Never any issues and always much cheaper

I went on allegiant air twice to Vegas. The 2nd time ended up being the same cost or more than flying from Vancouver. Both times I had a bad experience. The first time I flew, I ended up paying 50$ extra for a luggage and paid by cash. When I was going back to Vancouver, they said I have to pay another 50$ because they don't take cash. They made me pay and gave me the hassle of having sending them a complaint on their website. Waiting for a few weeks to get a reply. I ended up getting my $50 of the $125 I paid for a luggage. The second time my friends a terrible experience with the workers. They were in front of the line and one of them left the line to quickly do something when she came back when it was their turn, the worker them my friend to go the back of the line. I believe she ended up lining up again (which I don't believe was many people since there were around that time for 45min cut off for people to check on their luggages) when it was her turn they told her they can't check her in and she needs to take her luggage through security as a carry-on. My friends and I ended up getting on board literally at the last minute, it was our fault for being a bit late but allegiant workers gave us a lot of hassle when there shouldn't have been. After getting on board the flight attendants were talking shit about us and thinking they're better than us attitude the whole flight. You get what you pay for. I honestly am frugal, despite allegiant having 0 customer service, I would still go on it if it is 50% cheaper than flying from Canada.
A.I. says...
Is Allegiant a good option for flying from Bellingham to Vegas with a baby?
Traveling with a baby can be stressful, especially when it comes to flying. If you're considering taking an Allegiant flight from Bellingham to Vegas with your 8-month-old daughter and your wife, you may have some concerns about the airline's policies and fees.
Allegiant's Policies for Traveling with Infants
Allegiant does allow infants under the age of 2 to fly for free as lap children. This means that your daughter can sit on your lap during the flight without needing her own ticket. However, if you prefer to have a seat for your daughter, you will need to purchase a ticket for her at the regular fare.
As for strollers, Allegiant does allow passengers to bring a stroller for free. You can either check it at the gate or at the ticket counter, and it will be returned to you at your destination. Just make sure to collapse the stroller before boarding the plane.
Reviews of Allegiant's Bellingham to Vegas Route
While Allegiant is known for its budget-friendly fares, it's important to consider the overall experience when flying with them. Some passengers have reported delays and last-minute schedule changes on the Bellingham to Vegas route, so it's worth checking the flight status before your trip.
Additionally, Allegiant is a no-frills airline, so you won't find amenities like in-flight entertainment or complimentary snacks on board. If you're prepared for a basic flying experience and prioritize saving money, Allegiant could still be a good option for your trip.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, whether Allegiant is a good option for your trip to Vegas with your baby will depend on your priorities and budget. As long as you're aware of the airline's policies and are prepared for a no-frills flight experience, you should be able to have a smooth journey with your family.

Flying to Vegas for a work trip. My wife wants to join me with our 8 month old daughter. Question is, how terrible is Allegiant going from Bellingham to Vegas? Will they charge us extra for the stroller?
