Eurail pass

Eurail Passes are a waste for single tickets, return tickets, or even multiple days, they're not as good as they used to be, just like JR passes in Japan. For Milano to wherever in Switzerland use http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en or http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html

we just did a trip a week ago, and found out that there are deals though trenitalia.com if you travel on a saturday like 2 for 1! But only in italy, so we had buy two different tickets to get the best price,
we did zermatt, switzerland to milan and the best option was to book zermatt to a station in the border (domodossola) for regular price
and domodossola to milan 2 for 1 !
hope it helps and i didn't confuse you

Sometimes Canadian credit cards have trouble booking directly. If that happens try acp rail they are a Canadian company that doesn't charge outlandish fees
